So in that respect it's a subjective thing to talk about whether Deus Ex or SS2 are any better because they're both doing different things. The whole immsim meme is too much of a catch all phrase that doesn't really account for fundamental gameplay differences. How can you even compare it? it's like comparing Splinter Cell with Sly Cooper. it doesn't make any sense. In Deus Ex people like to go messing around with super hero powers and without a care for how much racket they're making. In Thief it's the opposite of that idea. I didn't think at any time I was playing the same games, not for one moment other than perhaps the game engine. Excluding Deus Ex being on Unreal.
