I got my start with streaming by posting ads around 2020
Eventually I had a small group of people (from both 4chan and those who found the stream organically) and stopped posting ads because it was attracting more trolls than anything

You don’t need friends lol all your viewers will be strangers. I had to do takedown requests because my so called real life friends were posting my private information. Just learn how to edit videos if you’re making videos on youtube and play a game you like just start from there. If you prefer doing live streams do twitch but if you’re not confident in that definitely do the youtube route instead where you can edit and post a curated video instead.

Get a good mic and sit up straight while speaking.
If you're a male don't do face cam unless you know how to apply makeup
If you're a female then same, but also consider a vtuber model.
In both cases it's better not to have anything but the subject of the video on screen if you aren't doing a live stream.

you get the views but they have abysmal watch time so they fuck your video over, they also don't comment
