The first game was so easy to manipulate and get the best results possible. Once you see through the writer's sensibilities there is no stakes in the game. You know which choice the writer wants you to make.
I played it, the world feels like a theme park. Same problem with Starfield. They can't make convincing enough worlds for me to immerse myself in the character or role playing so I'm stuck with mediocre combat and pressing E on crafting materials which I have no reason to care about. I think scifi games in this genre are just bound to fail because why would a spacefaring civilization have towns with ten buildings a thirty second walk away from the next. They need to spread this shit out with vehicles and vehicle combat to make it interesting but somehow there are still technical limitations to that. You're much better off playing mass effect than this if you want a space game.

I pirated already, the only companion I don't like is the corpo solider, she dick rides the corp more than the actual paladin of the protectorate talks about his faction. I've had a few bugs where companion quest just couldn't progress until I reloaded because the companion got suck and wouldn't trigger the flag, performance can chunk, and there's so many god damn skill checks that it always feels like you're not build good enough. You always need more engineering, more lock pick, more medicine, more science, more hacking, more speech, more observation. Hacking is the least used, but then when it's used it's always super important
