Never had a 360 but I always liked how sovlful its UI was

it's funny how much /v/ clowned on 7th gen as it was going on but I look back on it fondly with the 360/PS3/Wii PSP/DS combo and the visual fidelity was the perfect balance between realism and gamey but it was the beginning of the end for pro consumerism but at least the memes were good.

Portables were the best they ever were that gen.B. Early in the gen the jewish shit wasn't apparent (dlc wasn't terrible until horse armor and PS3 and Wii had free online) yet and games were great (see ninja gaiden 2, warhawk, dead or alive 4, mass effect, etc)C. It's so much worse in every respect now.

I noticed many games not feeling the same on the 360 such as halo 3 versus halo 1/2 or ninja gaiden black versus ninja gaiden 2. Stuff like that. Everything was becoming more visually impressive but many games seemed to start losing their general tone or atmosphere and just felt off even if they were fun. Larger in scope, bigger and better, faster paced with more visual effects and flash. But the old soul of the franchises got distorted here. The GameCube despite everyone shutting on it wss an enormous technical leap compared to the n64 or ps1. I like the console a lot as I like every 6th gen console. But the Wii just having the same graphics as a GameCube, having such a retarded name, and it looking so bland boring and dystopian always bothered me. GameCube had soul despite people’s impulse to shit on it. If the Wii had looked cooler and was called the Nintendo revolution I think just even that would have made it better but all together it seemed kind of like a joke like they were pranking us at the time

I find it quite amazing how Microsoft basically won the console war during 7th gen and almost nobody could compete with anything other than gimmicks. Which is strange because the PS3 had a blu ray player and that got mocked for being too expensive of a console when that was the cheapest blu ray on the market so I guess they could of just used better marketing. Xbox just had great games and accessibility. Shame that their paid online access ruined the console market thats why I went PC and never looked back

2005-2008ish era of xbox is unmatched. microsoft really hit the ground running.
My Dad was out of town a lot on business trips but managed to get custody of me, so he did the responsible thing and told me to not cause problems and got me a 360. Worth. Walked my ass to school and ran it home to play gears with the boys back home.

7th gen had some of the best games of all time and even though I own a lot of retro vidya I really love it. It might honestly be my favorite generation.
