Considering Sonic failed to outrun Galeem's blitz in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Kirby barely managed to escape by using a warp star...

The fact that Rick can keep up with the Machines on foot is PROOF that Rick the Hamster is FASTER than Sonic the Hedgehog.

Realtalk: Sonic has always been kind of slow. The character just has a enormous ego and assumes he's "the fastest thing alive", despite all evidence to the contrary.
There's not one character in the Sonic universe who can't keep up with Sonic. Even Eggman.
