Remember when Far Cry was kino?
>>724325234Yes i used to make rollercoasters in the map maker
>>724325234Far Cry was pretty awesome, except the enemies who could see you from miles away even if you're behind 20 trees and bushes. I know that was fixed with a patch, but damn that sucked playing when the game first came out.
>>724325234wrong game OP
>game is brutally difficult even on easyFuck those Trigen mustants and that helicopter fight, made me drop the game
>>724326184And then Ubisoft patched the bug back in again, because reasons.
>>724325234Yeah I remember.
>>724326339Were the spin offs on the Xbox any good? I never see anyone talk about themI know the second one got ported to Wii and it was terrible
>>724326273Never finished it because of frustrating instant respaning security checkpoints.Maybe there is fun game under being forced to mow down 100 security guards to get to any location and then another 100 because each security outpost respawn moment you look away.
>>724326339I spent so much time uppercutting guys off of cliffs
>>724326546its a much better game nowadays thanks to mods fixing those problems but yeah the vanilla game is way more repetitive than it needs to be
>>724326397The Wii one is a comically bad game. The ones on Original Xbox are excellent. I think they eventually fixed the 360 port, but you must get the latest title updates. Instincts retains much of what works in Far Cry, cuts the fat and focuses on delivering a strong console shooter experience in the Far Cry framework.
>>724326546Yeah, couldn't finish it either. The setting was nice tho, and had potential. The fire was cool too. I kinda didn't like how the guns felt... too plastic and too console-ish. Far Cry is still the GOAT in every respect and deserves a yearly playtrough.
Crysis was better than Far Cry in every way
>>724326038I loved this game specifically for the map editor. Use to do stuff like this all the time.
Played FC1 with a ATI Radeon 5450, shi was so kino it was unreal, first time i saw realistic water effects
>>724325234nofar cry 1 was such wasted potential>human enemies with retarded AI and aimbot aim to promote camping>trigens add much needed variety to combat but by the time they are introduced anyone who stuck with it just wants to camp the retarded AI from a bush
>>724328427The trigens have ridculous amount of hit points and can jump huge distances
>>724328662if it was better designed you would get some tools to deal with trigens as they are introduced
>>724327703Far Cry was the first game I downloaded after getting a 6600gt. I couldn't believe my eyes
>>724326273That really needs a Stalker Anomaly style overhaul. That would rock so hard
>>724325234I actually had more fun playing the demo than the full version. I'm not sure why.
What would've been similar real life counterparts for the FC3 setting? I'm more interested in the shantytowns, native thatched roof and bamboo (pad?) shacks. I love the kind of semi-urban feel, scraped paint on the worn signs, ripped posters, corrugated metal, tarp coverings and hap-hazardly put together docks. I'd love to remake something similar and I'd need a good amount of inspiration.
>>724329168the pirates camp on FC3 is so good to raid with bow and arrows
