I'm looking at the first game on the GoG sale right now and I'm debating if I should play it because I want a new horror game. Judging from videos, the gameplay doesn't seem to be as tight as classic RE games, but it doesn't look like it plays like shit either.

It has some glitches and a bit of jank. The combat is nothing special, although the weapons are cool, but the puzzles really shine. Only SH puzzles on the hardest difficulty are close to the ones in this game.

Yea, and the devs went full retard with the combat. Way too many enemies, and putting 2 single shotgun shells in the boss rooms when the bosses take like 10+ shotgun blasts to die is retarded

it has both classic tank and modern controls similar to REmake 1's alt layout.
~~unfortunately the game's design/balance favors the modern set~~
still worth the experience to play it in the classic style, but you will have moments where it's needlessly annoying even if you're used to tank controls.
