Honest thoughts on Fate/Grand Order after 10 years?
Every time I see 10 years in a post, I can’t help but think about Attack On Titan ending.
>>724333906It destroyed TM. Really rather bummed out about it. TM's output absolutely cratered alongside F/GO's development and later success.
>>724333906I think it has went on for far too long, detracting from a lot of the high pointsI enjoy seeing a lot of the unique (and silly) takes on historical figures, but do not enjoy the seasonal/event variants of a lot of servants--I just think it's stupidThe combat is thoroughly unenjoyable, but the sprite work itself is pretty greatReally enjoyed the Lostbelts and the end of the first Act was rather greatI do not think Ordeal Call has a reason to exist other than to pad the game out for another 3-4 years, just like EoR
>>724334640This, it should have ended with Lostbelt 7, there's no real reason it should have dragged out this long
>>724333906I'm glad TM is a bunch of foreigner haters or I might've actually caved in and played this garbage. I was mildly interested at one point and then found out they didn't even bother releasing the game for EU. Overall the game was the last nail in the coffin for those lazy ass devs. I'm amazed how long they've been milking FSN.
>>724333906I enjoyed stacking buffs and wiping waves in 1 turn. The gacha rates are trash and the cooldown to play the story sucks even more, so I dropped it after like 1 month of playing it.I hope that in a few decades once it goes EoS they release an offline version without the retarded limitations.
Post your genuine criticisms of FGO
Stopped logging in regularly in like 2019 or soThe game is pay 2 snooze where everything interesting you can do, every actual amount of effort you'd need is overwritten by "just play a looping setup and/or stack buffs+invulns for multi bars"Part 1 desperately needs everything before Camelot rewritten cohesively, but singularity 5-solomon are still really goodstill haven't finished any ebinsI liked LB1-3 but I genuinely have not had the time to sit down and play through poojeet land to get to the "good" parts, and knowing that that's more like the halfway point of the entire game now it's kind of bothersome to think about going back.I'm still hopeful that if ExtraRe is at least decent that they'll move on to making actual game adaptations for FGO considering all of the people they grabbed for TMBB and how Arcade is just outright dead. I'm still schizocrafting about why Natsuko Ishikawa had that joint interview with Nasu and the Extra director a few years back
Liz owns FGO.
>>724333906i cant imagine playing it for that long. i got bored of it after a year
>>724333906It's shit.It was shit.It has always been shit. The fact that the plot and events of F/GO is going to be relevant to the rest of the franchise and to character development is going to be the worst thing that the gacha did, honestly. Imagine watching or reading or playing something new in the series, and the required backstory you need involves downloading the gacha and pulling some specific characters to get their Bond 10 questlines for explanations. If it had just been a spinoff that's non-canon like FEH then it could just be forgotten, but with the Lostbelts or the various ages almost certainly becoming relevant at some point, the whole franchise is going to end up fucked.>>724337453>Post your genuine criticisms of FGOWell, outside the above:It has the standard gacha complaints. That is, it requires you to log in and play daily to get the required SQ to pull from characters. It isn't particularly fast at this, either, since even playing at 2x speed (the fastest option) you have NPs that need to play out fully and there's nothing like an auto-battle. Sure, you could build at team that'll one-shot hands and doors every day, but "You can spend limited pulls for an optimal team to make grinding quicker" isn't exactly a good quality. You also can't just give up and do daily logins because you need to clear events for the Lore and Grails. And to get the materials, since you need an obscene number of those to level up skills. I guess if your teams and characters are all maxed out, you could complete the event and just take a break, at least. The gacha is completely terrible. There's still no pity system, which means dumping years of SQ and not even getting one copy of whatever you want. And the anniversary yearly paid gacha just guarantees that you'll pull ONE 5* out of a pool or a list.

>>724333906dead shitmeme franchise, honestly cant believe i was gullible enough to treat it with respect when i first interacted with the fandom and everyone in anime and gacha community worshipping fateshit, and its like massive fomo, i watch the anime, i play the vn, i play the gacha, and you just wait for it to get good or for something truly impressive to happen and it never does, most mid forgettable franchise ever, some retarded jap nigga decides to genderbend mythological figures and have them fight in battle royales with a few pseud grimdark le depression moments thrown in. slop for retards
>>724338880None of what you said is correct. Impressive.
>>724337453>>724338880>cont.Even with the latest yearly gacha letting you pick the characters you pull, it isn't going to be your top 10. It's going to be one character of each class. So have fun spending $40 to get a 5* berserker or 5* lancer you probably didn't want. Please buy again next year! And then there's the story.Story beats range from "More wyverns incoming!" to actual meaningful situations with characters, which kind of makes it worse because now people have to play the damn gacha to see them. Some of these might be irrelevant, some might be retconned, but some might also be character-defining and referenced in later work. And the only way to see what happened before? You'd have to play a shit game (or maybe even an EOS game at that point) to get the context. There's no good way to really tell by looking at a specific servant, either. You could get one and have their story get into their background and their feelings about what happened in a previous work, or you could get one and their story involves a silly date where Mash is busy cucking you the whole time.Want to know why Artoria, the character who never had enough mana to become a Caster class, ended up as a Caster class? Well I hope you have a couple thousand dollars to roll on her holiday banner, because she's not guaranteed at any level of spending. Oh, and you'll need to do that material grind to promote her and get her to a high enough level and bond to unlock her personal missions. Then you'll get to see.Maybe.Or maybe it'll be a talk about how much she likes ice cream. Who knows? Go start playing and find out yourself!
Sony won't let FGO end. Fate is their active money maker, and they'll double down and slow the pacing to a crawl until Nasu finishes it in 2035.Sony has the privilege to make money from both the Fate anime, the Mahoyo anime AND the TsukiR/Mahoyo VNThey might let Nasu work on Mahoyo or TsukiR and gift him PS6 to keep him complacent, but he will be shackled to Sony forever
