What is the best edition and best books to get into VTM lore? Everyone already knows V5 is dogshit so that doesn't count
If you want to understand any game, start at the beginning. You'll likely want to read later core books too if you want to join games, but there is no better place to gain an understanding of game than it's original. With revisions and new editions come bloat. A 500 page clusterfuck with splat pre-baked in is an awful way to introduce yourself, so I'd fuck V20 off for now.
