>grinded gamerscore on 360 as a kid>grinded platinum trophies when I got a ps3 later>switched to pc>eventually started grinding out achievements on steam games>now have over 600 steam games>pirated a game recently>enjoyed it enough that I considered buying it>realized I would only buy it for achievements>then realized just how worthless achievements actually areall those hours wasted grinding shitty achievements just to say I hit 100% only to realize it's pointless
I like doing it for fun but I hate dumb trophies/achievements like "finish the main story in under 5 hours without taking damage"
>>724335238I just do it to games I like or want to know I don't have to go back to unless I want to have fun. Playing Silksong right now, need to get back to Rebirth to finish 100%ing it by finishing Hard Mode and doing the VR fights.
>>724335238basedachievements are worthless. usually they just make them piss easy with a couple time waster ones to pad playtime. you have to decide for yourself what is worthy of your time
>>724335238I have 50+ platinum trophies that I will pass down to my children
>>724335238I only use achievements to check if there is cool shit left to do after beating the game
>>724335498it's unironically made me question just how much money I've wasted on steamthere's been a bunch of games where I used achievements as justification for buying but now it's like "wow I spent $60 just for achievements, and at least 10 hours of that time will be arbitrary grinding for the unfun ones"
On my 15 years on playstation i have like 5 platinums and all of them were the easiest shit, most of my games are on the 70%-90% range.
>>724335238>>724335657I don't know why, but I've only ever cared about achievements on console
>>724335825better feedbackseeing a small pop up and having to full screen the achievement and read it gives more dopamine than steam's corner notification
>>724335825Probably because in your mind you think everyone cheats but in reality you can a apply a 0,1-0,5% margin of error on the steam achievement percentage and you'll have an accurate result.
Not getting 100% means you didn't beat the game.
>beat Ninja Gaiden 2 Black on the master ninja difficulty.>NAH M8 YOU HAVE TO GO BACK AND ACHIEVE PERFECT SCORE ON EVERY DIFFICULTY AND EVERY STAGEMy time on this god forsaken Earth is too limited for this bullshit.
>>724335238only platinum your favorite games retard
>>724335238I've got like 38 platinum trophies. Most of them are for tell tale games and other easy stuff the only ones I put effort into were Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077 and Dragon Age 3.The only time I really had fun trophy hunting was when I played Detroit become human because it let me see all the cool optional content in the game. I think next I might try and get one for Persona 3 remake and silent hill 2 remake since I enjoyed them.
I love achievements because I'm too bored with single player games and it adds to the fun
>>724335238if I like a game, I'll complete the achievements to extend my playtimeotherwise, achievements are for idiots with too much time
>>724335238111 plats and counting. Running out of good games fast
>>724335238My personal rule is end credits plus 75% of achievements. Enough to see most of what the game has to offer, but I don't bore myself to death grinding out those last few bullshit achievements.
just finished Portal steam cheevoswas worth it since it made me learn some tricks and glitches i wouldn't have otherwise, plus it was fun in general
>>724335238>learn about SAM>steam achievements lose all value
>>724340005I knew something was fishy when so many accounts had the same perfect games i.e RDR2, Witcher 3, Cyberpunk etc. All very time consuming games to 100%.
