What is your opinion about the current situation of Xbox?

They aren't putting all those teams they own to work on great games that will fund the MSGS. People are not interested and the decline is just going to be about how they can manage it as the next windows phone or zune or skype, which you know now today are dead, but you don't recall how they died - they just suddenly vanished and stopped being brought up.

Competition is objectively a good thingHOWEVER the writing was very on the wallI don't celebrate shut downs or layoffs but I fully expect more staff bleeding especially because Xbox as a collection of studios has been made irrelevant by the acquisitions of Bethesda and Activision Blizzard like what happened to Tron after Disney bought Star Wars (and there's no Jared Leto equivalent to bail them out and promptly fail horribly for them)

Xbox read the room and realized there's no point in making console exclusives anymore. Sony is a zombie company prepped up by the fact all the journos have friends there and keep up the narrative it's not dying (Concord being the biggest flop in all media in history of the entire world).

>>724338959Then what's the point of making consoles? From a business standpoint it's a big deal to have your own walled garden where you control both the hardware and software. From a consumer standpoint it creates competition and leads to more diverse and interesting games with proper funding as opposed to the homogenized mass appeal slop we get as multiplats. From a consoomer standpoint it strengthens the brand, creates prestige and builds the community. All bespoke hardware is destined to fail without a killer app, coincidentally even dogshhit hardware that can barely run the software or has a 50% failure rate will succeed if it has an exclusive killer app. What Microsoft did is fail pathetically and then declare that the rules no longer apply and that they still won.
