Been meaning to get into Atelier. How are the newer releases of the Arland games compared to the old Plus versions? I might dust off my Vita and give them a shot once I'm done with Trails to Azure

I don't. It's the worst genre in gaming. Doesn't have the complex stories of VNs and they don't even have good strategic or tactical gameplay. I hate jrpgs

Is the Atelier series worth dipping in?
I was planning to get the Ryza DX trilogy when i releases but i'm not sure yet
Any other good JRPG series i should try

Ryza isn't really good. It's much shorter than your average Atelier game and a lot easier. Just play it if a fat ass and thighs in the center of your camera can carry a game for you.

Still on my backlog so I can't help. Just finished E&L and Shallie after skipping them for like 8 years. Shallie isn't the worst Atelier. E&L is.
