Sonic's characterization in Unleashed is great. The story isn't. I don't give a shit about Chip (nor how they try to present him as Sonic's best friend with the ending theme, why are you cucking tails???), how the emeralds were seemingly retconned into being keys for some ancient temples which completely fucks over Knuckles and also... the lack of Knuckles for what should've been a major role for him. In actuality, asides from 06, Unleashed is REALLY where Sonic stories started taking a huge shift to becoming complete dogshit, because Unleashed just shits all over SO much established lore and it never gets brought up again.
