What was that game that you were so excited about when you saw it, but when you played it, it disappointed you?

New vegas. Pre ordered it on release after loving fallout 3. Worst purchase videogamewise I've ever made. Last time I pre ordered anything

Spyro: Shadow Legacy for DS
I point to it as the single vidya that started my childhood descent into becoming a jaded adult.

I remember playing and beating it, and that the touchscreen spells were dumb, but nothing else.
The Rhynoc GBA game was far better.

Mechwarrior 2
I saw a video review and I really liked how the mech controls and level structure were described. Then I started playing it for myself, and honestly it suffers from that DOS-era esoterica where game-critical mechanics aren't really explained, you need to use the entire keyboard (including numpad) to control the most basic functions, and 90% of the open-ended customization is rendered useless when you can just make a simple unga bunga build to trump every mission. It's not a bad game, but I had bigger hopes for it.
Then I played Mechwarrior 4 and it just clicked real easily compared to 2.

grim, assuming you're not a pokenigger
That was probably the first game I played that I was crushed by disappointment, but oblivion came out the next year which accelerated my apathy towards bew releases

Fable.

Same. Mercenaries was better tho.

That also bored me as a kid because the entire game was one giant fetch quest. Never ended up 100%'ing it because I couldn't find everything. The shitty isometric angle didn't help.

I was expecting something like FFIV on DS, but instead I got a shitty action game that runs at 10fps.

Oblivion remastered. Why the fuck did I fall into this hype after avoiding trash for so long. I could have pirated and saved some money. Waiting for more mods to clean up the unnecessary changes

first assassin's creed
it was like a starting point of decline of video games

Ocarina of Time

Dragon Ball Ultimate Tenkaichi.
Seeing the battlefield destruction and custom character creator had me hyped. Then you play it and the game's fighting is based on rock/paper/scissors bullshit.

I was also disappointed by that. Paid full price too. I did not really like the scifi elements in the story, but they probably could have done something more clever like a twist at the end revolving around that tech. More importantly the gameplay was repetitive, every town had the exact same missions. Only thing I thought was cool was seeing jerusalem from afar and riding the horse all the way to it.

I never played the sequels, though I was told the 2nd one was probably the best and you could utilize many different weapons.

These fucking devs cannot focus on the most significant issues: the gameplay and the AI. Great artstyle, environments are massive, megastructures look cool, but no quality replay value. Arch raiders already looks like a better version.

ass creed 1 was amazing, you're just jaded as fuck
the whole mystery, bloody schizo writings, everything
it went to shit later and ass creed 2 was the disappointing one with how boring the setting was in comparison
>>
>>724343406
Look up the word "game," you fucking retard.

So they both sucked, cool
