If Square Enix was willing to sell to Embracer
>3 game studios with over 150 employees each
>5 video game IPs (one of which being Tomb Raider)
>That make up a combined total of 50 individual games
all for a mere 300 million dollars (bare in mind, Amazon had to pay 600 million to license the rights to Tomb Raider from Embracer) to fund crypto related projects and after their Western titles failed.
If Nintendo WANTED to, they could easily get the Super Mario RPG characters for pocket change albeit likely still too expensive to consider over simply working with Square Enix for mere re-releases of Super Mario RPG since those characters aren't evergreen whatsoever
