I'm so mad, why didn't they just call it Anno 9 and still have it be set in Rome? What realistically would have changed about the setting?
>>724364578Because it's the 8th game in the series, not 9th.Retard.
>>724365021So? It's not the 117th game in the series either.I'm just mad that Anno 9 will never be used as a title now.
>>724364578Don't care. Still buying.
because if it's anno 9 then you couldn't be settling the bong island
what about Anno: Y because that seems like what it has done to youwahey goddem
>>724365156what if it's about Han Dynasty Chinese being sent to colonize Japan
>>724364578Yeah, but 117 AD being the year the Roman Empire controlled the largest amount of territory is still pretty cool.
>>724367095Is that actually true or did they just say that because that's the only year around that time period that added up to 9
>>724368774Seems to be true form a cursory google search. 117 is when Emperor Trajan died and he was apparently big into expansionism.
>>724368774It is true, that's right after Trajan's retarded conquest of Mesopotamia.
>>724364578They want DLC for the next 10 years that go as far as the Roman empire reached so they needed a peak year.
>game set during the reign of an emperor famous for fucking underaged boys who later got succeeded by another underaged boy lover hmm... interesting choice
>>724369987wtf I will now buy your game
>>724369987I don't think there's a single roman emperor who wasn't famous for that, sadly.
>>724370038There was a period where both Trajan and Hadrian were trying to seduce the same man iirc.Hadrian's boy lover killed himself after he reached an age after which being a bottom starts bringing shame on the person. And then Hadrian deified him, what a lad.
>>724364578>why didn't they just call it Anno [sequential number]first time?
>>724370613It wouldn't have been the 9th game, but using 117 for the 8th game kills any chance of the 9th game being 9.
>>724370613>the individual numbers in every title sum to 9simulation confirmed
>>724372239It's... intentional?
>>724370613So they can never do a 20th century Anno
>>724372239>it's pretty much a joke. We're not ruling out that there'll be an Anno whose numbers won't add up to 9, but at the moment, the team would like to keep the theme going.
>>724373878Anno 1971
>>724374281but that adds up to 18
>>724374794and 1 + 8 = 9
>>724364578you should be more mad about how dumb the actual game content is
>>724374902That kind of works, but they'd probably have to explain it because people won't get it and would melt down.
>>724375040I never played Anno before but took a look at this one because Rome, looks comfy to me. Don't know what the problem with it compared to the other Anno games but I see nothing about it that makes me not want to play it
>>724375335>console-ized>graphics need a beast card for not much improvement over the last game>muh female emperor>we wuz romans>the ui both in design and use of cause muh console audience for a pc game.
>>724375475So good graphics are a bad thing now? I thought we were just shitting on Pokemon ZA for bad graphics, now suddenly graphics don't matter.
>>724375564>good graphicswho said that? fucking read.
>>724369987Based Shotanno 117
>>724375475>muh female emperorthey didn't...right?
>>724376819its the current year (117) anon
>>724373878Anno '45, something like that.Actually what I unironically want, a more Anno and global take on the Tropico idea. Post-war/Cold War era, 50s-60s. And for a unique/first time style change, make air travel the main means of transport. Planes and airports instead of ships and harbors. Not that you can't have ships and harbors, but aviation is the encouraged focus.
>>724364578because 117 is when the fun begins
>>724376819>>724376954Having a queen in Anno 1800 was perfectly fitting but now this is cringe
>>724369445t.Hadrianus
Why don't they get rid of the oceans and make one giant landmass. The game would be so much cooler.
>>724364578>Why is this new game in a long running series named in the same fashion as its previous entries?
>>724379748Then it wouldn't be able to be called Anno anymore and they'd have to go with something like "Ante 315,000,000"
>>724378653>niggercreed canceled>anno: TKDubisoft entering its based arc?
Anno 2007 when
They could have made Anno 2025 and actually released it in 2025 if they weren't stupid

>>724369987>civilization reaches an absolute zenith under the reign of shotafags and twinkfagsHomophobiasisters, our response?
>>724369987>>724370038>>724370201>>724383205How old are we talking? Because perhaps said male lovers were all 17 years old with beards and huge bushes. Also, the game looks very good.
>>724375475>>724376819>female emperor I wouldn't put it past the dev team to try it but I'm pretty sure they would have called her Empress rather than Emperor if that were the case, right?
>>724383345They could be teenagers or young adults, but it was extremely unlikely they were bearded and hairy, especially not in the case of Hadrian who was a massive greekaboo and as such he had a huge hard-on for their ideal of androgynous young guys. It's safe to assume Trajan's taste was no different, although in theory he could have a bit wider palate as the Romans didn't have any societal proscriptions against fucking hairy dudes(unlike the Greeks who found it gross).

>>724378653This isn't enough to make me install the ubisoft launcher, but it's absolutely a gesture of good faith.
Is this the only game ubisoft has in the pipe?
