The GameCube was kinda shitty after the greatness that was the N64. The games were like temu versions of N64 games. Mario, Smash Bros and Zelda were all huge downgrades.

Ive always thought the library sucked, I think the only gamecube exclusive I've completed was pokemon colesseum and I played it on my wii. ps2 had all the jrpgs and fun slop

My 6th gen hot take is that Gamecube mini discs were actually superior.DVD load times sucked. GC games loaded so much faster and most games didn't need the extra storage space.

>>724365380The SNES was the last great Nintendo home console, every console after had some stupid unnecessary drawback, cartridges that only have a fragment of the storage cds had, a mini cd that could only store about half the data of every other console disc, the wii which pretty much missed out on the entire generation because it was just an slightly stronger gamecube, the wii u straight up couldn't run some games because it simply wasn't compatible with some software, not to mention still weaker than xbox 360 and ps3 and a gimmick touch screen that was anything but innovative, just an excuse to continue the wii branding and a handheld with awful graphics and performance as it still runs ps3 and xbox 360 games barely and a successor that is managing just ok, but we're in an era where everything becomes obsolete within two years.

I had a GameCube and a Xbox that generation. It was like an alternate world where the "PS2 era" never happened. Still played a lot of good shit. I had pretty much stopped caring about Nintendo bing bing wahoo shit at the time so my Gamecube library was all Killer 7, Resident Evil 4, Eternal Darkness, Lost Kingdoms, etc.I did have Kirby Air Ride, and I thought it was pretty shit. I didn't know it had like a hardcore fan community or whatever. Double Dash and F-Zero GX, the other N racers were great though.
