The devs do it intentionally because it's easy to pad hours played that way and most people playing wegs don't mind the grind as it makes the progression/sex scenes feel more satisfying and slightly better paced. But if you don't have a lot of time for vidya then it's cancer having to grind a repetitive game loop. He has a sort of natural stream of conscious style where the words that pop into his head usually Just Work, so to speak. It's not a kind of rigorous, structured style that like Joyce might have to affect over the course of an entire literary novel - he can just let the voices in his head shoot the shit, and it just so happens he has the verbal IQ such that the voices in his head naturally produce dialogue considered high-quality and enjoyable by many. It's still going to take him 10 years to shit all of out (which is to say 5 more years), but LiL unironically is going to end up as 6+ million words and one of the longest works of written fiction of all time, for better or worse.
