So Dewitt went through multiple timelines sometimes raising her as a daughter, sometimes marrying her, and sometimes feeling guilt for it all and then killing other versions of himself?
It's time dimension shit. Don't even worry about it.
>>724375050they really wanted to show her concept arts before some prototype sweet baby hr marketing told them to make her less sexy (5% less sexy, it was still before 2017)>why did they sacrifice the story to do itthey had to get rid of 80% of their story as they had to remake the game in the last few months due to publisher strong arming. they didnt give a fuck about the story anymore
>>724375050All these Elizabeths split off from the baptism because the baptism is when dewitt was reborn into comstock. They can't just kill comstock in one timeline because he exists in all the other timelines too, they have to kill dewitt before he becomes comstock because that closes off the timelines they're all from and prevents him from discovering timetravel and fucking with everything.
he didnt marry her his brain broke because he sold his daughter and he goes to the dimension where he became comstock
>>724375324>he didn't marry herThis makes the story way less compelling and even more gay than it already was
>>724375306It feels like the devs didn't understand that "infinite universes" really means infinite. "Constants and variables" be damned, there are an infinite number of universes where Booker forgoes the baptism and becomes Comstock just the same. Don't get me started on the grandfather paradox implicated in Elizabeth's killing of her father. Not to mention how killing 1912 gambler Booker wouldn't do anything to prevent Wounded Knee Booker from being baptized. The game's story, and especially its ending, are one big, pretentious clusterfuck.
>>724375909>It feels like the devs*writers. I don't think you could consider Levine much of either, truthfully.
>>724375306that doesn't make any sensewhat about all the timelines before the baptismthis one scene is a point in time where all timelines somehow converge for no reason?
Bad writing for bad games.
He had gone through all different timelines and possibilities after giving Elizabeth away as a baby. Every timeline, despite how different Elizabeth turns out, it ends badly. He always turns out to be the villain and the only way out is to not exist. If he dies, he breaks the loop, he stops Comstock and he stops Columbia, saving a lot of pain. The only way out is for him to not exist.I liked it and thought it was fun. The handymen being bullet sponges like big daddies was pretty lame though. I'll buy and play Judas if it ever comes out. Unless it's only for playstation. There's nothing I want on ps5 so I'm not burning money on that paperweight piece of shit.
>>724375050Even Ken Levine doesn't know what the fuck is happening.>Elizabeth and Booker go back in time to the place where Booker either did or did not take a baptism>Elizabeths from alternative universes appear and drown you to stop Cornstarch from ever being born and it seems to work because... because>turns out one Cornstarch is still alive for some reason
its about how elizabeth is a quantum singularity and all the quantum superpositions (all the different timelines) end once they collapse in on her during the events of burial at sea which leads into Bioshock one
My wife, Elizabeth.
>>724375050Just remember that in one of the infinite possible timelines he raped them all into a coma instead
>>724375973>>724375973In Bioshock Inifinite, there was one true timeline and the timelines split from the baptism. There are no timelines where booker forgoes the baptism and becomes comstock because in-universe the luteces only navigate the timelines that came from the baptism. If there was only one timeline there would be nothing to discover through the tears that they made and there'd be nowhere to go.They're all wounded knee booker, because post wounded knee the original booker was baptised.
>>724376421The only true ending
>>724375050>white man bad>womyn goodThat's it.
>>724376421This. Taking her 13 Year old period blood samples and consisntley taking naked pictures of her to monitor her growth seems pretty tame after comparing possibilities in infinite loops. Like, the Comstock in the game is pretty much running a standard run rather than crazier experiments of deviation.
it's like killing hitler in art school
>>724376376More
>>724375050infinite universes filled with...a variety of different outfits
>>724376184They aren't drowning you (the booker we play as), they're drowning the original booker that the timelines split from and our booker is watching as a 3rd person, he's also disappearing like the other elizabeths because he's dying before the split. The real problem is that I don't think there's ever a reason given for why the timelines split specifically from booker and specifically from the baptism, that there should've been at least been multiple splits from multiple points in history before booker and the baptism.
>>724375050Its writers disappearing in their own artsy assholes with infinite universe bullshit. Somehow killing the protagonist prevents villain from being born in all of them, despite the fact the game establishes infinite universes. Infinite means infinite, theres going to be millions of worlds where none of them exist and Earth never became anything else but molten rock, or didn't form in the first place. Theres going to be zillions of worlds where the villain becomes a satanist instead. So nothing they do actually matters and they drown the protagonist for no reason whatsoever.
>>724377585im not gonna say bioshock infinite has the best writing, but you are nowhere near as smart you thought you were typing that garbage
>>724375050Is multiverse bs the worst trope that has ever plagued the industry?
>>724375050There were 5 or 6 different versions of the game, each one had a different plot and the devs had to haphazardly stich them together.
>>724375050>Infinite possibilities!>By which we mean only 1 possibility, sorry Booker!
The game doesnt feature true multiverse theory, where the outcome of EVERY tiny event splits off into a universe. The game has an infinite amount of universes, but they are not infintesimally distinct. And theyre not different because of outcomes, but they are different becuase of arbitrary things in the story. It only makes sense when you accept that the GOD of bioshock is a writer. And universes are different because some things are arbitrarily different. Maybe youre diabetic? Or blonde? Maybe your outfit is different. Thats all. All of those Elizabeth's came there to merge all of the Bookers into one across all universes, then drown him before ANY could become Comstock. Their universes all correct themselves. Except the Elizabeth's dont die somehow because theyre whatever, and there was one Comstock who left his universe and wasn't corrected and erased. You could maybe try to understand the logic or magic behind it, but why bother? Even then, it still doesnt make total sense.

>>724376953Her Halloween costumes are always so fun.>>724378175Correct! They're lining up as we speak.
>>724377442There could be splits all over the place but we only ever see the splits from THIS particular split. There could be a split from Booker deciding that day to go to the baptism or not, there could be a split from whether he shit his pants and they told him to fuck off from the baptism, could be anything. But, for every timeline that came from THIS particular split, this is the only split that matters.Think of it like shooting a movie, but then changing the colours so the whole thing is in purple. Every other colour still exists, but the only one we see is purple. And as far as that movie is concerned, purple is the only colour to exist.I dunno, at the end of the day I'm trying to put thought into a universe its creator didn't even put any real thought into.
>>724375050It's a cryptic anti-white story that's hidden beneath a pseudo-intellectual science fiction tale.
Let's literally cross dimensions to get a mere stash of gunsFucking stupid

>>724379815I asked for and cared about it, now you have to go back
>>724375050Wouldn't this cause a causality loop and Elizabeth would cease to exist. She was born after the baptism right. Booker should've also had reality warping powers but didn't. Fuck this game
>>724381191no she was born before
>>724381239Well i'm wrong and don't know anything then, which is to be expected because i played this once when it came out

>Some versions of you took the baptism; others chose to walk away. It's really not hard to understand. The game did a pretty good job breaking it down into simple terms with the lighthouses, doors, and other versions. Elizabeth even explains what is going on for the last like five-ten minutes of the game.
