RWBY went to shit the moment Oum died.The plot was already extremely mid from the start, but at least when Oum was still there the plot was just an excuse to create cool fights, so it being there and being extremely basic was fine, but once he was no more, everything in the show went to shit, the plot became more relevant in each episode but the quality of it didn't increase(and one could argue it even dropped by a lot), and the fights became a pale imitation of Oum's style, with only a small handful being even remotely close to his own.
