What's a video game genre they haven't really tackled yet that would work with the IPs they already have. Apparently, an MMO is a good extension of a MOBA. Or at least the MOBA people think so. But as you mentioned, WoW was built off of a RTS. Other MMOs have also built themselves off of pre-existing IPs, also from different genres like how the Final Fantasy MMOs came from a JRPG. TES Online came from single-player open world games.
