How we feel about Soulcalibur 6?

I'm glad it died. Absolutely horrible netcode, CAS in ranked and Reverse Edge mechanic. If the opponent can't sustain 60fps, your own gameplay experience is terrible. Just how this could be a thing. RE + long super animations sometimes meant 25-30 seconds of no gameplay. Absurd.

I don't think it can only be attributed to netcode. I think in many cases it's the opponents internet connection. Either way I got tired of it, and though I play them far more infrequently now, I decided to just stick to offline play for fighting games.

But then the game turns into a literal rock-paper-scissors QTE with absolutely no ability to predict your opponent or read them because it's a cinematic. It takes the worst aspect of cinematic super moves (just fuckin sit and watch a repetitive cutscene play out) and combines it with regressive gameplay. Terrible mechanic.

Even in the US, offline doesn't exist in most states, with the only real scenes being NYC, Atlanta, Portland, and Seattle. Fighting games have to have good netcode for them to survive in today's world.

If Soul Calibur 7 is literally just Soul Calibur 2 with better graphics, it will by far be the best selling game in the series and completely revitalize this franchise.

There needs to be some guy at Bandai Namco who just sits the dev team down and forces them to play over 100 hours of SC2, each. While taking notes and discussing the game with themselves for a period. And then they just literally need to make the sequel to Soul Calibur 2 that I'm still waiting for, because 3 4 5 and 6 were NOT fucking it.I'm sorry but as a game mechanics autist I can't pretend it isn't better than every other game in this series by a country mile.
