Bullet dive keeps it til the end point, dodge roll in mid-air will straight up have you lose the extra burst of speed the moment it ends. About the only thing that actually has momentum is the aim glide, and that isn't really a controllable sort, because all your actions are mechanically rigid despite how good chain bullet dives can feel.
