I had fun with it but I think it was mostly because of Vanillaware's visuals. Setting up a good team synergy was fun too but the actual gameplay is pretty braindead, some leader skills are just so much better than others so you to intentionally gimp yourself if you want variety. I cracked up the difficulty on max on my first playthrough and had very little problem, and I never looked up minmax team comps. But completing the map is fun and addicting, and while the story is very stock, the characters are pretty memorable and likable, and you have the added waifu marriage bonus to look forward to for the entire game. I see new physical copies are going for 30 bucks now, it's 100% worth that.

I'm glad that vanillaware decided to bring back classic ogre battle but it's too easy and missing more of the strategic aspect even the original game had with terrain types.
