>unveils port of the last anticipated wii u game on a random weekday
>no direct coverage
>no switch 2 patch
>no interview or commentary from the devs
why did they do it?
>>
Still baffled at the lack of Switch 2 patches for 1, 2 and X.
>>
>>724527607
They're trickling down the updates
>>
>>724527550
They made the port as a practical course to a bunch of new hires or to test a new engine they may have created. I think they did say before, porting X would be almost impoissble, and then they did it anyway
>>
>>724527550
I'm STILL laughing at the tendies bragging about the swtich 2 performance.
>>
>>724527550
God I hope they up level design for xc4 or whatever. They still haven’t topped Noctilum
>>
>>724527607
honestly I think they can get away with a full rerelease of XC2-HD at this point.
>>
>>724527550
you forgot the part where it sold less than a million copies and nobody talks about it affter it came out
the fucking Sonic CD of Xenoblade
>>
Bought the game with the switch 2 and it's still in the blister, waiting for the patch
>>
>>724528135
we had that on PC a few years ago already.
>>
>>724528182
it's never coming, if anything they'll release a full priced switch 2 port. You dun goofed.
>>
>>724527681
have there been any switch 2 patches other than the ones at launch?
>>
>>724527607
I expected it for X at least, I thought people poking inside the game files found some unused 60 FPS code
>>
>>724528136
I'll admit to be incredibly excited for this port. Then I was spoiled on chapter 13 prerelease by an anon doing play by play, and that more or less killed off any desire for me to buy the game again for a myriad of reasons.
>>
>>724527550
They didn't even fix pop in.
>>
>>724529575
As someone on the fence on buying the port due to having already sunk enough time in on the original, is Ch 13's content and story that bad, or was it just because you were spoiled?
>>
>>724529575
>was excited since it seemed decent
>they downgraded the lighting
>lose all interest
>>
>>724528002
The lava area is actually pretty underrated on foot, I wish they saved the robot for the postgame.
>>
how's it poppin', anon?
>>
>>724528136
>and nobody talks about it affter it came out
>the fucking Sonic CD
People talk about sonic CD more than any other classic sonic game, other than maybe the barrel in s3 carnival night zone.
>>
>>724530545
Not him, but it is that bad. Remember the complain on Xenogears' second half being just a bunch of cutscenes taped together? It's exactly that. Half of chapter 13 is just awkward cutscenes of Al narrating his own adventure to (you). The conflict suddenly escalates to planetary, then universe level threat in an instant.
It probably wouldn't be so bad if they just made X2 instead. The ending would still be controversial but the pacing won't be so ass.
>>
>>724530545
Honestly as someone what skipped the game because of wiiu and only got it on switch, it mostly seems that people spent years hyping up all of the secret missing plot and then when ch13 came and was just more xcx instead of the divinely inspired masterpiece they had built in their imaginations.
>>
>>724527607
>Still baffled at the lack of Switch 2 patches for 1, 2 and X.
AFAIK, XB3 didn't get anything either than a minor patch to fix compatibility issues.
It plays the same other than faster load times.
>>

Same but I watched some youtube playthrough a week before release.
Cancelled my pre-order after watching the first hour.
I eventually got the game used for half the original price and played for 5 hours. Biggest disappointment this year.

Terrible, how about you?

>I think they did say before, porting X would be almost impossible
They never said impossible, just that doing so would cost the same as making an entire new game and the original already didn't sell that much, so it was extremely unlikely.
The fact that we did get it means either Nintendo believed the Xenoblade name was big enough now to carry it, or they threw Monolith a bone after carrying the entire company on their backs for over a decade now.

>>
>>724530545
Bad. Aside from the retarded escalation of stake from planetary to full on universal (yes, we skipped system and galaxy), they managed to cram two game worth of plot revelation into a single chapter. Rushed doesn't even begin to cover it.

Mira, a setting I quite liked, gets nuked into oblivion, with any lingering mysteries hand waved with a really stupid relevation.

And, just a personal thing, don't care for Al one bit. But thats the least of chapter 13's issues.

>non weebshit art style like XC2 and 3
>no gacha shit
>better maps and open world than 2
>giant fucking robots
>giant fucking robots in an open world setting
>everyone hates it
I truly hate this fanbase
>>
>>724529575
I can't bitch about it too much because the original story answered absolutely nothing and nothing can live up to a decade of speculation but it's very clearly rushed. The core game is still good though and the quality of life changes only improve it so if you liked that I'd say buy it, just don't get too attached to the setting.
>>
>>724533316
For a JRPG, XBX was about as grounded a setting as you could get, with space magic bs kept to a minimum.

But no, fuck all that for more Perferct Works/Zohar wank

open world is not a good thing, normalfag.
>>
>>724534286
normalfags love open world, that's the point
>>
>>724534445
True, Xenoblade might be the only franchise ever where the open world entry is the least popular. I wonder why that is. X has lots of problems, but most of them aren't evident at a glance.
>>
>>724534286
Except Monolithsoft make great open world games that are fun to explore.
>>
>>724534606
>I wonder why that is
Because JRPGs live on the strength of the plot and characters, and XBX is firmly focused on the world exploration instead. I love it, but it's absolutely not how you hit larger appeal in the genre.
>>
>Xenoblade X cutscenes desync on switch 2
have they fixed this shit yet

How are you supposed to find the teleporters on foot on your own?
They're really tucked away and don't have super obvious landmarks
>>
>>724535073
Don't all the teleporters have super obvious landmarks though? Or are there hidden ones I didn't know about?
>>
>>724535073
One of them is in a fortress guided by enemies, can't be more obvious than that
>>
>>724528136
I love Sonic CD. I like it more than OG and 3&K, but less than 2.
People who hate CD were poorfags who didn't get to play it back in the day.
>>
Oh yea I held off on a Shitch 2 for this games upgrade and the game itself. Guess I win again PC it is.
>>
>>724535692
PC always wins baby. Also can you even go online though on either of the Switch emulators?
>>
>>724535749
No idea haven't emulated it yet because I forgot about the game.
>>
>>724535073
>>724535227
I remember a couple of them being real tough to find. Mostly that in that very same reign. I played the WiiU version last year and remember finally giving up and looking online and then being pissed it was such an obvious location. If I had a map I could remember more.
>>
>>724527607
they're testing wether or not people are stupid enough to pay for them
>>
>>724528136
it had threads for months after release and you could regularly join anons to kill the world bosses.
why do you lie?
>>
>>724528182
Same. It's one of my favorite games of all time and I've played through it a lot so I don't mind the wait even if it doesn't come
>>
>>724531983
Why are you choosing to lie?
Al wanks you off all the fucking time as the actual real hope for humanity not him.
Plus chapter13 has tons of gameplay, multiple bosses, two new super bosses, etc. It is not just a string of cutscenes.
You niggers are so fucking dishonest about every damn thing these days.
>>
>>724536521
>Al wanks you off all the fucking time
nice reading comprehension
i'm saying those backstories could be more organic
>>
>>724539135
i made a double post because it was on page 10

>tons of gameplay
come on man, the new region is 5 hours content at most. the final boss is a joke if you do explore everything. the two superbosses don't really push the system further than the ones already in the original game.
what is good in there doesn't excuse the sloppily paced story.

>dishonest
i just call it as i see it. dishonest would be something like calling xb2 "anime bullshit" or xb3 "bland product for the mass".
>>
>>724527681
I think they just gave up.
>>
>>724527550
>no switch 2 patch
>literally purchased switch version expecting a switch 2 patch
So 3 copies of Xenoblade X or just be mad.
>>
>>724527681
That's one slow as fuck trickle, I kind of expected that Kirby and the Forgotten Land Switch 2 edition/DLC would launch alongside patches or at least an announcement for patches for Kirby Star Allies and Kirby's Adventure, but we got nothing, then I was hoping maybe hoping that MP4 would also give as an MP remastered patch, but even that I'm not expecting now.
We have Mario Wonder, but that's an expansion with the patch, really disappointed by the lack of patches.

It's all about maximizing the dollar-to-time ratio to extract as much from their userbase as possible. They want Nintenbros to be buying and playing the newer titles like Bananza, Age of Calamity, Metroid Prime 4, and PokemanZ. Titles that cost $70 to buy and dozens of hours to complete. Rather than $10 dollars to upgrade already purchased games that take hundreds of hours to complete like the Xenoblades. Offer them up haphazardly, and you risk having your moderately sized yet extremely loyal Xenoblade fanbase locked up for over a year and not spending any of their hundreds of moneys on the newer Switch 2 games and their pricey DLCs. To that end, expect to see them to put large gaps of time between each release when they do identify the opportune moment to start doling them out.
