Retail holy priest alone is the biggest example of this button bloat problem. They had what amounted to two entire bars of healing skills and you STILL felt like you couldnt keep up with the damage output because all of them had to be tuned assuming the others existed.

Buttons you'd press in a typical pvp match, not counting niche abilities like the poison dispelling totem, R.Shaman had around 50 buttons they would press regularly and slightly less in M+ dungeons & raids. Retail is a fucking chore to play though, so many redundant abilities. Whenever I crawl back to try it I feel like I'm looking my my hotkeys almost entirely and barely any of the fightI think pruning is a good idea, just depends on how hard they go
