You either love it and think it's the best Tales, or think it's just meh and Berseria iterated better on the combat. Xillia 1 is also not bad, Xillia 2 has the best gameplay in the series bar none. But they haven't announced Xillia 2 yet.

I mainly just enjoyed the art style and character interactions, the combat was inoffensive, you mostly just set up partner moves.The second game is terrible though, silent self-insert MC (in a fucking Tales game!), mandatory trash quests (kill X trash mobs, collect Y bear asses etc) to open new areas (the in-universe justification being the MC is a debtcuck and must take side jobs to earn money), 90% of the areas are just copypasted from the first game, dropped it with no regerts. I can see why they skipped remastering it, it was essentially just a cashgrab DLC sold as a standalone game, extremely low effort and padded with quest boards as there's no real content.But anyway, MUTTON, FRESH MUTTON
