Despite using the same game engine, mario party 1 and final fantasy VII are very different games. One of them has 90% of its gameplay made up by minigames, whereas mario party is only 80% minigames.

well thats just dumb, you dont really spend a lot of time doing mini games in the OG ff7 like you do in the remake, but of course the same engine joke wouldnt work with the remake.
