Saturn is the crunchiest system of its generation by far, unless beetle has shaders you better get used to it.

Unfortunately the Saturn's library is quite small given most of its success was outside the west. That being said we are slowly getting fan translations so here's two more if you're willing to patch:

Princess crown (Vanillaware rpg with fighting game style combat)
Baroque (Mystery Dungeon Rougelike with a desolate, grungy machine aesthetic)
