They went off the rails after season 1. Laguerta was killed by the ice truck killer and Deb found out Dexter was a serial killer.
The show was more good than bad.

Those are all the really good seasons.
6 is mediocre, but not bad by any stretch of the imagination.

Those two are shit beyond compare.
New Blood was okay at first, but it went to shit (but not as bad as seasons 3 or 8).
I haven't got around to Original Sin or Resurrection.
