The psychology of those who want to hate this game is really sadThey loved the first one because it "owned the woke mob," it had no black people and no faggotry. The dev gave a big middle finger to the establishment.The sequel adds one (1) black person, and it doesn't just ask you to accept this with not acknowledging how weird it is. He's in a king's retinue, not just walking down the street, and everyone comments on how weird he looks. You can even say to him you think there's something wrong with him because you've never seen a black guy before. On my main playthrough I spent a lot of time in the first then immediately replaced every piece of gear after the first 2nd map story missions let me kill some guys in plate to loot. And it pretty much devolved from there. The worst offender is that for all the complaints about the siege casuals had for the ending of the first game, this time they replaced it with being IN a siege and it unironically is a 6 hour story mission. I have zero desire to ever play it again or do the dlc because of this nonsense. I proved my gaymer cred by killing every guy in the prauger camp and with that I was done done.

The games are ok but most of the mechanics and systems feel pretty shallow and superficial once you get used to them. Though a lot of that is a consequence of the "le level as you use them" scrolls type skill system never actually working out properly in practice
