Now that the dust has settled, what's the /v/erdict?
Not even worth to pirate
its not even worth hating on because its clear that nobody involved gave enough of a shit to make it an actual sequel anyway. It's like if Forza Horizon 6 released, but it's a stardew valley clone. Utterly baffling.
It fucking sucks. It's like going back to the year 2010 where every developer was determined to destroy RPGs and replace them with cover shooters and other action slop. They stapled together a janky AA action game and a walking simulator. If this is an RPG then so is the Infamous series.
>>724547287It's impossible to change the stupid ending and save Ryong. It feels like being forced to pee without taking your pants down.
>>724547287IncredibleNobody besides that one retarded shill had any expectation that it would be good and it still managed to disappoint>>>/wsg/6008902
How many developers did this IP go through until we got the finished game?Don't even blame them, it was basically impossible to get a sequel for VTMB right, that game was a product of its time.
bad
I have brownoid shazamtranny template thread fatigue
it's shit
>>724547714Bullshit. They had like three years with a crapload of ready made assets and a story/quests by Mitsoda and Avellone and this shit is what they came up with? It's baffling how terrible the game is. Too busy sucking their own dick with the whole Fabien walking simulator crap to actually make what the fans wanted. Besides they were simultaneously developing another game. The Chinese Room is as much to blame as Paradox.
Better than I expected, not woth buying fullprice.I liked the story, artstyle and a how a lot of the levels looked (the chineese tomb with upwards climb was neat), but the game needs a whole lot of work.Or at least proper sidequests and some kind of ability system rework (even if some of them are really cool). But I'd say pirate it, set it to easy and just enjoy it for the action. Not very long

>>724547287Great game for fans of World of Darkness, flawed and lacking mechanically, but with nice story and characters. I wish it succeed enougth so that we`d get Bloodlines 3, which hopefully will be complete game fixing issues of this one. Or even other WoD Games - Mage Ascenion, Hunter etc.
>>724547287It's like Deus Ex 2.On its own, it's an ok game, but what the fuck were they thinking when they slapped Bloodlines on it? I know it's to farm nostalgia, but it's a whole reason why people a shitting on it.
>>724547287Its one of those games you'll forget exists till someone makes the weekly "what went wrong?" thread
>>724548334You are welcome for being reminded of its existence anon
>>724548158While I`ll certainly say you`re right, in that it is a stupendius game set in the World of Darkness and for fans of such franchises as WoD Games — Mage The Ascension, Hunter The Reckoning, etc, I must add that Bloodlines 2 was, by all metrics, a great game I`ve enjoyed playing a lot, despite some minimal flaws.
>>724548397Outer Worlds 2 and Bloodlines 2 released almost at same time.Bloodlines 2 has far superior story and characters, meanwhile Outer Worlds 2 is 4/10 game reuse of assets of first one, yet i already sunk more time into it than in Bloodlines 2 because of basic rpg mechanics. Bloodlines really suffered from not having inventory, equipment, stats, skillchecks etc. People may claim they play RPGs for "story and choices", but they lie. RPGs are about grind and progression and Bloodlines had none.
>>724547287>~12 hour game>~6 hours as Phyre>~6 hours as Fabien>DLC with ~3 hours as Benny>DLC with ~3 hours as Ysabella>Playing as your protagonist unironically has less content than playing as other charactersWhat did they mean by this?
3/10, horrible trash. They didn't even bother to flip through the rulebook.
>>724548592>>DLC with ~3 hours as Benny>>DLC with ~3 hours as YsabellaHas ANYONE asked for this shit?
>>724548592>posted it again awardWhat did you mean by this?
Don't know, don't care, played the original a long ass time ago and even that was mildly ass even with fan patches so yeah, next game please.
>>724547287Dust? There was barely a POMF here. I don't think anyone knew it came out. Also, they took away Christina Hendricks huge tits and said NO NO IT'S THE SAME LADY. God, 2019 was 6 years ago!
>>724547287a 6/10 game everyone forgot about after a week. bloodlines deserved better.
>>724548632it's clearly content they didn't implement in time. or maybe it's actually tcr's content rather than what they had to repurpose from the old version.
>>724548592>Phyreplease tell me this is a joke.
>>7245472871/10 The ending ruined any lasting impressions. You'll watch your friend get killed and then play charades with the traitor.
>>724547287/v/ sure is obsessed with this game for a place claiming that this game will be forgotten about fast.
>>724549082my name is PhyreVam Phyre
>>724549542The game came out not even 10 days ago
I uninstalled, pretty boring. I'll wait until there are updates, good mods and all dlcs are out, though I doubt it being a boring walking sim will ever be fixed
>>724547935>Bullshit. They had like three years with a crapload of ready made assets and a story/quests by Mitsoda and Avellone and this shit is what they came up with?To be extremely clear, though, Mitsoda's story was complete shit and they'd basically made nothing of value except assets.
>>724547287I would have said I could not give less of a fuck but because of the paid paradox shilling I actually hate it and I wish the worst of pain and misery on everyone in Sweden and at The Chinese Room. I hope they all die.
>>724549542how fast is 'fast' to you when the game was teased for a decade?
>>724547287Looks dull as fuck. It's not even an RPG, just a boring first person action game where you play the same takedown moves over and over until you go insane. What a way to spit on the first game.
>>724549542the game is 10 days old and I haven't seen a thread for a couple days because the shill either got bored or gave upeven this thread is barely puttering alongthere's just not much to say about a 10 hour RPG where everyone is brown and/or gay and there's only one or two meaningful decisions in the game
>>724547287Terrible sequel, okay game.
>>724547287Pozzed and boring with no gameplay
>>724547714Any nerd with chud mentality could have fixed it with romance and big tits. Its just woke snoy devs filled with feminist are incapable to make appealing games like they cant meme
>>724549082They forced that absolute shit show of a name on you because you're supposed to be compelled by Safia to be her weapon of revenge against Lou. Safia's Great Seattle "Phyre". They clearly wanted a "would you kindly" -moment, but somewhere along the development they fumbled the reveal.
jeets still shilling it like mad on this board for some reason
I stopped playing after the mission with the Toreador with the club that started the freaky fucking blood ritual.Honestly I'm sad.I think one of my biggest complaints is how the world feels so empty.Don't get me wrong, I actually kind of like the snowy Seattle setting. But you can't go up to any NPC and talk to any of them.Don't get me wrong, I re opened up the original to see what would happen and most of the time they'd just tell you to fuck off. Like in the original all the women would tell you to buy a watch. That's SOMETHING. But in the modern game interacting with NPCs does absolutely nothing. Also, there's so many doors that you don't open and lead to nothing.I spent so long in one of the missions because the game had trained me to think that all doors are fake, but no this ONE door was actually usable.Combat fucking sucks, just like the original.Patience is kind of cute but the romance was not worth all the effort I put into it.Some of the model downgrades from the original trailer really fucking piss me off(Lou). Also, the sections where you're just walking between interaction points is fucking boring as shit. Oh and it is one of the worst running games I've had the displeasure of playing in ages, I consistently would get framerate crashes to 10 fps even with DLSS on.I have no idea what the fuck was going on.I'll probably finish it later because I'm a Ventrue to the core and love the series.I just... I wish it was better. It makes me so sad.
>>724551204>there's just not much to say about a 10 hour RPG where everyone is brown and/or gay and there's only one or two meaningful decisions in the gameIt's not even an RPG. The RPG mechanics are so barebones in BL2 that the average Ubisoft slop has more claim to being an RPG.
Why the fuck are you people talking about this no-effort VN cashgrab.
>>724552018Dispatch has a lot of brown shills.
>>724551040Kek, it can't have been worse than the disjointed mess we actually got.
>>724548632I really like Benny so yes. Not Ysabella. Wish we had a Campbell dlc
>not an RPGDoes it at least have decent action
>>724556079Nah, not really.
>>724556079Yes, the action is quite good. But the tutorials that teach you how combat works are quite lacking.>>724551879>But you can't go up to any NPC and talk to any of them.>Don't get me wrong, I re opened up the original to see what would happen and most of the time they'd just tell you to fuck off.>Like in the original all the women would tell you to buy a watch.Actually, you can interact with basically all the NPCs in the streets, and they say random things. What is interesting is there is localization data for NPCs to chat among themselves when you're in interior spaces like the hotel and the police station, but it's never used.
>>724556079The basics are kinda fun but the enemy variety is sorely lacking and you'll get sick of the handful of biting animations pretty fast.
>>724547287I don't think there's a game in existence that could fill the void in which this one created. I only know of one indie VTMB1 clone in active development. And it's really ugly and janky. To the point of where I wouldn't even bother mentioning it. VTMB2's presentation was decent enough and it's still likely has better environmental/asset design over any option out there. Amateur projects won't ever touch that quality level of where you would hypothetically want it at.
