Co-worker starts talking about a game I make? Immediately change the subject, advertisement about a game I dislike? I turn off my device or computer and engage in another activity. I don't remember CounterStrike or Battlefield 2 being toxic. It was just a game people played for fun. Nobody really cared if you were bad at the game. Even MMOs like FF11 and EverQuest people saw the game as a way to socialize and help each other.Now you have games like COD where people shot obscenities at each other, FF14 where people will kick you out of pickup groups because your not a hardcore player with best in slot gear and games like ARC where people spawn camp on a map to troll other players.
