But I do like that it gives you alternate ways of getting blueprints, so that you don't need to go around scanning shit, or improving relations and paying ridiculous prices.>>724551601You can still dogfight against S and M ships. I always pilot a corvette myself, and if I feel like shooting things I just go to Hatikvah's Choice, there's always a lot of xenon there.

Which S/M ships do you use for combat, and how do you set them up? I'm thinking probably some heavy fighters like Ares or Eclipse Vanguard attatched to carriers and fitted with torpedo launchers would do great as bombers against L/XL ships and stations. What about interception/anti-fighter duty? Normal fighters like Moreya with some beams? Or maybe shard batteries or pulse lasers would be better? Or maybe just leave the interception duty to M corvettes?

I wish this game had like a skirmish mode where you could just spawn specific ships to test them out in a controlled environment. I mean I can have wings of multiple different types and send them all into the same fight, but that only lets me judge them by the losses they suffer, without knowing which ones actually inflicted more damage, too.

That's for my ai shipsFor my ship I like the split simply because of the speed.Bsd to build three mega factories in different sectors for the parts. Then I had a massive shipyard in that contested area of outside of Terran space with the robot viggers show up all the time. Built a massive defensive station there to deal with the. Fun to sit on the station and watch the light show.Btw I started in the Terran space, easy to make money. Build your first Terran parts factories there, once you move there quests along a bit they start sending expeditions to shoot up the robots. So they always have demand.Also I built a solar farm also in Terran space. Easy money. Problem with too much micro getting trades far out.Ended up building a storage facility in the middle of the map. Also get the mods that remove the super highways game flow is way better, that and remove the constant damage in that one water boy sector, AI is too stupid to handle that. Same with that no shields sector.Fucking love this game

They're meant to be this great danger, but in none of my games have they done... well, anything at all. Right now I'm running a mod that improves their economy and doubles their shield and hull strength, but even with those huge buffs the only place they've managed to cause any damage is Hatikvah's Choice I, and even then they eventually got pushed back.I think I'll install a mod that just spawns a bunch of fuckhuge fleets for them, but I want to finish story quests first, in case they actually manage to wipe out some vital locations.
Are gunships just pointless? Medium turrets are kinda shit, I thought I might use them for anti-fighter or anti-missle duty, but they seem to underperform anyway. Is there a usecase for them?Similar question about frigates. I guess they are fairly tanky, but what situation would I want to use them instead of corvettes?
>>724560636medium turrets suck except for argon M flak which is really good. I just slap the argon flak on every M turret on every ship I have, they swat down both S and M ships. the split have flak as well but the worse accuracy makes them worse than argon flak.
