I found most of the game pretty clunky and not particularly enjoyable but that last leg of the game and the final boss made it one of the most memorable games I've ever played
I'm not very far in 2 yet but I feel like there's no way it could possibly match it

Turns out there's a remake coming out next year using Mother 2's engine.

Downside is that it's covered in Discord tranny drama, last time I looked in the official server, the lead dev was tardraging so hard, it made some guy leave the team.
