Games like Colors/Lost World/etc unironically ruined Sonic because they are not earnest, they are massive overcorrections with the devs bending over backwards to please smarmy critics that forgot about them 5 minutes after their youtube videos went up.Almost everything after Unleashed from the physics to the gameplay mechanics, story, art, even the english dub became about being safe as fuck.
