God so many zoomers on this board right now and a bunch of gen-alphas too.Any gen-X and some smarter millennials remaining? /vr/ used to be so good in the first few months when everyone was discussing level design.We could talk horror and porn genres and nobody would be able to give good ideas and good example.But those games are also a niche cause presentation challenges mechanics. You can have a bunch of heart attack mechanics in your horror game, if the graphics/audio and presentation sucks everybody will treat your heart attack mechanic like they treat the hunger mechanic.
Horror games have the problem that you die like a retard over 20 times and autists get angry if there's any puzzles and shit to memorize and close the game. Of course you could play as multiple characters who die, but intelligence isn't something horror game devs have. They copy garbage and inspire from garbage. Somebody who watches horror movies can be a much better game designer ... till he picks up the programming and realizes he can't program worth a more than a square killing you.And those who make good design choices never get popular to let others inspire from them.

Ironically porn games were better when they were just sidescrollers and click next for animation because at least you got to the porn faster without the game getting in the way. They still haven't learned how to mechanize and make the sex the game itself.
