In my defense, a lot of these old edutainment games were "Do the same thing 100 times but we'll increase the difficulty slightly each time"
Does that count as NG+?

I was like 12 so my sense of time might be a bit diluted, but I swear I played Metroid Prime 3 (that was the Wii one, right?) for 80+ hours.

I was missing ONE (1) of the collectibles apparently needed for the "true ending", and I went through every level again and again to try and find it, and ended up burning out and just not finishing it at all.

All Paradox games really. Thousands of hours across all of them, never finished a cmpaign

Don't think I ever got anywhere near all 120 stars in SM64. Played a ton as a kid, then 15+ years later I discovered I just cannot get back into the game at all as an adult. That fucking camera.

Oh, and Mount and Blade: Warband, every time I get into it (every few years), I'll ALWAYS burn out in the recruiting fifty million villagers to occupy all your castles and cities phase.
Turns from a fun game to an incredibly, incredibly tedious experience, I've never won.

you can get 120 stars in mario 64 in a very short amount of time, it's not hard even with the camera being a bitch
I find using diplomacy mod helps speed up that part in warband, you can send people out to recruit more villagers and send groups between castles without having to do it all solo, it adds quite a bit of features to help

Yeah I've got no doubt SM64 would be easy enough, especially with the PC "port" for 60 fps, analogue camera and such
I just couldn't get into it last time I tried emulating it, that camera is so shit and clunky. It makes that 30 year old game really feel like it's 30 years old.

Also on Warband, never tried any mods, might have to next time I have a hankering for M&B so I don't just quit at that point as usual

I'm of the opinion modded Warband is the greatest game of all time, there's something for everyone
If you're just looking for basically vanilla+, Diplomacy and Floris are the gold standard, you just pick one
I haven't used them in a while so they may not be the best anymore, but they add so much needed balance and improvements, it's hard to play without them know
