I hate this dumbass fucking nigger
>>
The only thing 'sweet' about him is the diabetes he will inevitabley develop from grape soda consumption.
>>
>>724594417
People that complain about Sweet did the territory minigame for 30 hours twice instead of doing the bare minimum that takes 15 minutes total
>>
>>724594417
why though? he is right about everything and he is the only one who doesn't betray you
>>
>>724594417
>>724594791
>CJ is doing bank heists and buying properties while the murderer of his mom and the man who betrayed the family is walking free

He's just saying you need to set your priorities straight and to murder that turn-coat Smoke first and foremost. Admittedly, he does it in the whiniest most obnoxious manner.
>>
>>724594417
>How dare you leave the ghetto and make something of yourself
Peak nigger crabs in a bucket mentality
>>
GSF would still be around if Smoke was in charge

btw, they want to portray the Grove Street gang as the cool plucky underdogs, but they are vague as shit about how they actually make money. Based on real world gangs, it would be:

1. Gambling.
2. Protection rackets.
3. Prostitution.
4. Weed and every other drug other than crack or heroin.

So the game has this very romanticized view of street gangs, as one side being the good guys who care about the neighborhood, and the other as drug pushers. Even with Sweet's anti-crack position, you are gonna have them engage in human trafficking of 15 year old girls, and going into mom and pop shops with baseball bats saying they need to pay the neighborhood tax.

Organized crime, be it street gangs, cartel, or mafia, are always just societal parasites who mooch off productive people.

except he literally wasn't. He was stealing cars for the Leone family in Liberty City. Meaning that he did actually abandon his own for virtually the same thing on the other side of the country.
>>
I hate living in Ryder betrayal timeline
>>
>>724594995
it's the exact same thing as vice city and scarface
they want to tell the story of one of those "get out of the fucking ghetto this shit doesn't matter" gang movies but they also want you to have your cake and eat it too, so like VC they get to the downfall part of the movie then just let you win instead
>>
>>724595352
So fans speculated he never was a turn coat, but it looks like it was always the plan. The game initially had it that Ryder was not in the "Green Saber" cut scene at all, and his betrayal was only shown after when he shows up to the meeting. The initial plan looks like he was pressured into it only reluctantly after Smoke's take over of the family and CJ being run out of town. In the final game, it implies he was a turn coat from day 1.

I sorta like the initial plan better, but I bet a lot of casual players didn't pick up on Ryder's betrayal (reminder, players are retards) especially since the initial plan for the stake out mission was a HELICOPTER.

Obviously they cahnged it to just viewing it from afar on land so that it drives it home more.

>flees to Liberty City and becomes a carjacker for some mobsters completely abandoning his responsibilities

nah fuck CJ

If something you typed has no correlation to the thing you just read, stop and ask yourself how you came to that conclusion. Because not once did I say it was boring or stupid.
>>
>>724596237
I was telling you it's boring and stupid to 100% the territory unilaterally because I can't envision a universe where someone would disagree.

I frankly think you're giving the LA gang bangers these motherfuckers are based on too much credit. They only like to watch movies and pretend they're as organized as the fucking mafia. The gambling they're involved in is shooting dice and playing dominoes for chump change. Protection racket? Ha, nah they just rob Wong and Sanjay at 2AM. I'll give you prostitution and drug peddling, but it's not like the proceeds are funneled into the operation or anything fancy like that. It's just a bunch of petty criminals and dudes living with their parents fighting them niggas from two blocks down Figueroa Ave. Very loose organization for the most part.

Shit like what Smoke and the Ballers had going would be the exception to the rule. And somewhat realistically, they were just being puppeteered by powers greater than themselves for reasons none of them cared to understand.

So in all likelihood the Grove didn't "make money" in the sense that a criminal organization would. It was just a loose association of kids that grew up together around that area and adapted into the same bad practices they saw growing up, as their own personal definition of brotherhood and accomplishment. And these groups are mostly defined by their violent rivalries with other groups that formed the same way in areas near where they live. Real basic in-group shit

Or I just wanted to not get interrupted constantly by "our hood is under attack!" and then all my progress was erased because a certain story beat happened.
>>
>>724596004
>>
>>724596237
Nah man, you just got hit with that classic "I'm too dumb to read your post so I'll dunk on a strawman instead" move. You pointed out how the game reverses your territory gains and they jumped in like you said you enjoyed manually repainting the entire map. Like yeah, clearly the issue wasn't the grind itself, it was how the story makes all your effort meaningless. That moment hits like getting your save file corrupted, not because it was "boring" but because the game unceremoniously wipes your shit for the sake of forcing a plot beat.
>>
>>724599224
No, I was saying if you painted the map in the first place to the point resetting it mattered you were doing some stupid shit for no reason. You did it 3-4 times and saw every aspect of how lame it is then you kept doing it for hours.
>>
>>724595248
I think he meant during the events of San Andreas, where CJ was actually getting into grander things beyond the hood
>>
>>724595531
the introduction implies it pretty heavily too
