i boughted the oled, man and you oled shills guys were right. this shit looks really good, games that have proper HDR settings like cyberpunk 2077 looks unreal.
>>
>>724627693
Told you so
>>
>>724627859
its a shame that you actually have to see it in person to believe it, but man I was immediately blown away. I downloaded some HDR movies and it looks fucking kino.
>>
*burns in*
>>
>>724627693
Is that the model you went for? I just got an OLED as well - the AW2725D. Despite being a budget OLED, it's been fantastic - even emulation has felt wonderful. I can actually do the Pokemon Stadium 2 log cutting minigame on it lol.
>>
>thinly veiled marketing thread
>>
Hdr is too much of a hassle on a PC but OLED is good of course but I'd never pay more for my monitor than my gpu
>>
>>724629110
Yep didn't even post a pic of his own monitor just some marketing BS photo
>>
>>724628978
yeah that one. cost 800, the cqp model was only 600, 175htz with 65w usbc charger/KVM I'm very happy with it, does full HDR400 or 1000 nits max brightness, i've left it on HDR400 now but I wont really get to use it until the weekend.

bro can you get out of the shot? you dont have to include yourself like a woman into a picture of some object
>>

I posted my reply to the wrong thread holy shit. I'm glad youre enjoying it. I stand corrected
>>
got a 1440p 500hz. its great. motion isnt as good as crt yet though. its fucking smooth dont get me wrong but its not as crisp as a crt.

Hdr is fantastic if the game supports it, rtx hdr is ok, resident evil hdr is fucking shit retarded and barely works. streaming services do not pipe hdr over their web apps it seems.

in some grey scenes you see imperfections of the tech. but really overall its really good. miles better than an ips and tn panel for sure
>>
>>724630154
> resident evil hdr is fucking shit retarded and barely works
According to the RenoDX guys capcom took the internal HDR pipeline, shrunk it down to SDR(which is fine as that is how you get SDR output these days) but then took said SDR and then expanded it out again to get HDR output, which is why it is mostly broken. At least with RenoDX it can be fixed.

thanks man, I'm going to try this out the weekend.

How much does hz matter for casual vs sweaty? I bought a 4k monitor that's 60 hz to play 1st person rps a few years ago and watch movies.
But i started playing battlefield last night and my friend made me feel dumb. It's a nice 4k monitor. Does a few miliseconds difference on refresh rate change my world?
>>
>>724631527
You definitely feel it but what the monitor says on the box and how it actually performs are two different things. See this pic - the screen can do 100hz but the pixel response time is so slow it behaves more like 40fps for most of the screen. The switch 2 suffers from a similar problem.
>>
>>724631527
Its about ghosting and motionblur you caveman
>>
>>724631650
>>724631690
I feel like everything appears smooth on my screen. But i was marking targets for him while he shot missles, and i kept getting juked by jets and he started tripping an insisted he go over my settings with me. He's always at the top of the scoreboard of whatever we play. So im always the shitter.

>caveman
I git out of gaming for roughly a decade
>>
>>724631174
yeah i saw many comments about renoDX however installing pajeetware and giving it direct access to my hardware is a last resort.

currently downloading an earlier version of re7 which supports hdr properly
>>
>>724631527
refresh rate is a meme. response time is more important. all you need is 60hz low response rate
>>
>>724632332
>giving it direct access to my hardware
brainlet, pls
>>
>>724632463
back off, pajeet.
>>
>>724631527
Even just going from 60fps at 60hz, to 60fps in a 120hz container, has a very significant and perceptible improvement in input lag, let alone running at 120fps. (Hence why it's always best to disable VRR for 60fps capped games when your refresh rate is a multiple of 60)

So yes, it's a big difference
>>724631650
The other thing is that when your display has a fast pixel response, the stop-start nature of the motion becomes obvious at 60fps, so once you have that you also need 120fps... Both things play off each other
>>
>>724632926
>60fps at 60hz, to 60fps in a 120hz container, has a very significant and perceptible improvement in input lag
thats not input lag. all it does is make the image look less choppy. your inputs are still polled the same and dont get better
>>
Remember DisplayHDR TrueBlack400 is not real HDR.
>>
>>724627693
I have an oled with hdr but I can't figure out how to set the hdr settings in games so I usually leave them off.
>>
YEAH WE FUCKING KNOW IT'S GOOD
THE BURN IN IS THE PROBLEM RETARDS
>>
its not even a problem. i'll just buy another monitor in 4 years when this one burns in.
>>
>>724633645
Good goy
>>
>>724633562
Just push the buttons, I don't even have an Oled but I do have an HDR display and it looks amazing when done well, I really liked Control's HDR.
>>
>>724632124
Its not about if it "appears" smooth. Man youd be happy with a switch 2.
>>
>>724633697
AMD and Intel share price made me 40k in the past month I'll be fine.
>>
>>724632450
Lol retard caveman jeet
>>724633092
Lol retard higher fps is lower inputlag also 60fps wouldnt look less choppy on a 120hz display
>>724633442
Except it is. Displayhdr 400 isnt however.
>>
>>724633961
>Except it is.
400nits is 400nits - it doesn't magically get brighter because oled shills say it does.
>>
>>724627693
Never boughting OLED desktops
Too expensive
>>
So what have you guys been enjoying on your Oled trueblack 500 monitors(tm)?

for me so far:
>god of war - excellent HDR
>Alien Isolation
> Resident Evil

what other games made for Oled should I consider?
>>
I just inject HDR into 2-0 year old games. Fun times seeing las venturas glow like the vegas strip it is meant to be.
>>
>>724634679
your moms pooper olololol
>>
>>724627693
Welcome to the club. You can never go back.

>>724631527
A lot. I went from 165hz to 360hz and that was a noticeable difference. Games feel smoother and more responsive than you can imagine and look insanely clear. And yeah, the 0.03ms response time feels great.
>>
>>724634168
Why not get an OLED TV then? You can get a 48" B series from LG for less than 500 bucks now, and it's got an HDMI 2.1 P output that can do 120fps. I don't notice any real difference between by C8' C1 that's part of my monitor setup, and my B5 that's in the living room.
>>
clean it up, jannies. oled shills are tech illiterate troglodytes alongside the enjoyers of hdr, ultrawide, rt, any dlss features and its adjacents
>>
>>724637091
I refuse to believe anyone actually likes ambient occlusion.
>>
>>724627693
Of course OLED looks good, retard. Everyone knows it's one of the only modern solutions to the disaster that is traditional LCD screens.
The problem with OLED is that the trade-offs of the technology are terrible for computers. I use an IPS screen, and sometimes I leave it on for 14+ hours running the same software. This kind of thing just fucks up your OLED, no matter how modern it is and how much technology you have to deal with degradation on the screen.
I personally would only use OLED on computers if it were as a second screen exclusively for running games and media in general.

Note: OLED isn't perfect either. This technology also has problems with pixel transition, even though it's extremely fast, so there are several techniques to try to improve movement, which often creates that "soap opera" effect in movies and series. Turning it off completely creates other problems. But even with its weaknesses, the image quality of OLED is infinitely superior to LCDs, even after your screen inevitably starts to get all fucked up (which will happen to everyone).
>>
>saturation ---> 150
woah, look at that., my IPS now looks as good as an oled!
>>
>>724638046
cope xD
>>
>>724630154
Big part of owning a very good HDR monitor is realizing how many PC ports have absolutely botched HDR implementations. It’s the only thing consoles still do better than PCs.
>>
>>724638220
On the other hand if a game has broken HDR on a console (which many do) you can't fix it.
>>
>>724638046
I wish there were easy hacks to improve the contrast.
That is my main issue with my IPS, colors are fine.
>>
>>724638046
Insane delusion. You must be from Mumbai.
>>
>>724627693
just dont read any black text on a white background anon
>>
>>724634087
Hdr isnt about brightness retard if it was movies would be at 2000 nits fullscreen by now. An average scene in an hdr film is around 150 nits to this day wirh highlights typically around 500 at best. Unless theyre lightning flashes in say madmax fury road.

Minileds that can push 4000 nits barely get better real scene results than your average g4 oled.
>>
>>724627693
everybody KNOWS oled looks great. that's not the issue with it.
>>
i wish it wasnt overpriced, im not spending 500 dollars for a measly 1440p resolution
>>
>>724637091
>tech illiterate
The only tech illiterate here is you. Now cry about burn in and fringing on panels that you've never seen.
>>
>>724629726
wdym that's literally me
>>
>>724627693
dumb nigger, Mini LED mogs OLED
>>
>>724634087
OLED screens can go far higher than 400 nits for parts of the screen, which is the use case of HDR to begin with. It just doesn't go that high full screen, which isn't the use case for HDR anyway. That's why OLED TVs are HDR certified by the UHD alliance even though at the time LG was the only OLED screen manufacturer and everyone else was fully committed to LCD.
