for me it's the razer viper v2 pro. ive had it for a couple of years. it works both a productivity mouse and a FPS gayming mouse, though i had to correct my table height to really make it feel right to use. it took a while to get used to the ergo -> ambi style mouse switch but i realize ambi is much superior now. i can palm it for flicks, fingertip it for snipes, knuckle grip for lazy use etc, which makes it very nimble mouse to use

i decide to make a mouse thread because anon in another thread was looking for mouse buying advice >>724628990 but idk how to help him since i dislike excessive mouse buttons

razer and logitech make some of the best mice though

admittedly logitech is more like buying a 2 year mouse subscription because they wanted to spend 20 cents on the switches and thus they all break several times in the warranty period. unless they finally moved to optical switches. idk. my razer viper v2 pro is still chugging along, though the wheel collects grime and starts malfunctioning if not cleaned with alcohol every year or so

Razer and Logitech make the best mice, especially Razer. Razer has the most mice used by professionals by far, even by people that aren't sponsored by them.

It's become a bit of a Frankenstien's Monster
>Left button started double-clicking
>Took it apart and replaced the switch
>Foot/skate fell off because the adhesive degraded
>Used double-sided tape to reattach it
>Right mouse button started double-clicking
>Took it apart and replaced the switch again
>Piece of rubber on right side of mouse started to break apart and come off because of the adhesive degrading
>Glued it back together and then glued it back to the mouse
Now it's double-clicking on the middle click if you can fucking believe it
I need to replace that switch eventually, but it's a different type of switch (the square one) and I need to do research on those
I need to make sure the replacement switch has the absolute lightest actuation pressure because these are notorious for having the mouse wheel break if you press them a little too hard

They stopped doing that quite awhile ago because players were bitching about using mice they didn't like when tilted and giving them bad publicity. Also, I don't understand why retards put pros in quotations like they aren't actually when they objectively are. It just makes you look stupid even if you don't like or respect the thing they're a professional at.

RSI mostly

there are several ways to avoid RSI, which include but are not limited to
>lowering mouse sensitivity to the point that you're using your entire arm to move your mouse
>adjusting table height so your wrist sits in a straighter angle
>working out regularly to strengthen your mouse arm
>doing deadlifts to improve posture and shoulder health
>eating less slop with vegetable oils so your shit doesnt inflame as much
>not using the heaviest ergo mouse they can find
however nerds dont want to do any of this shit so they go to best buy and try a vertical mouse for 2 seconds and think "wow my shit hurts slightly less when i use this" so they get that instead of properly investigating or correcting their health issue.

i may be wrong but i think most people who develop carpal tunnel are people who run an incredibly high sensitivity, have their table set too high and basically move their giant brick of a mouse by twisting their wrist around, which fucks up the nerves running through it big time. add a general lack of conditioning, diet and health for 10 years and you are bound to end up with RSI

I use a Razer Naga. I don't play MMOs, it just pairs really well with this keypad. It's nice having something under my left hand that feels like an actual gaming controller, with different shapes and sizes of buttons that have their own positions and purpose, and with analog movement, but still with the benefits of kb&m. The Naga works perfectly because I can use the keypad for 0-9 -+= and with hypershift (left hand pinky key on the Tartarus) numpad 0-9 -+=. I have as many keys as I could possibly need right under my fingers without ever having to reposition or look down at the keyboard. In TF2 for instance I use -+= instead of zxv, so all voice commands are done completely with my right thumb. The 20 key on the Tartarus (the paddle at the bottom) is probably the most responsive and nice feeling analog switch of all, it works really well as an accelerator pedal for driving. This has become my favorite setup for practically any game I play, I only touch my keyboard to type now and only use a controller for retro.
>>
>>724633863
having side buttons on both sides can be annoying. Also it is cheaper in production to only use 2 switches instead of 4 for every mouse.
>>
>>724633863
It's just the side buttons. Lots of symmetrical mice used to put buttons on both sides but they stopped because some people bitched about hitting them and then, since they don't need to make it ambidextrous anymore, they usually make the side buttons jut out more so it's a much bigger issue for lefties than before even if they don't mind not having the side buttons.

I still miss the FK2...

Swapped over to a Basilisk v3 now since I'm one of those fags who like wired mice still. Has the usual 2 side buttons (for next/prev or whatever you bind it to) + 1 extra.
So far I've gotten like 8-10 years out of each of my Razer shit before the lifespan of my LMB ends.
>>
>>724635656

If that's your main requirement, then you're better off looking for something that was made prior to like 2015, since it was around that time when most manufacturers started wanting to jew out and stopped giving a fuck about quality control.

Got it for 15 bucks on Wish about 4 years ago, still works like brand new, used it for multiboxing 60 accounts on Warmane WotLK and other MMOs, use it for FPS and RTS at LANs parties around Southern California, use it with macro commands via it's own software and other programs when doing server/script/development work and audio/video editing.

i was always a bit put off by using a large mouse since i was a hardcore FPS and RTS fan and want to have speed and pinpoint precision, but this thing is the best mouse i've ever felt. Has 6 weights in the bottom you can pull out and adjust, super lightweight without any inside, so i have half and it's been perfectly matched with my twitch flicks playing 1v1's on ScoutzKnivez in 1.3 CS as well as rail gunning hoppers in Quake and UT2004.

Thank you Chinese overlords. i should actually pick up a couple more, they have newer models with slight updates of the same build and a wireless one as well.

logitech and razer are the white bread of the peripheral market and 90% of their usage come from marketing and brand perception rather than actual merit or useful innovations. This is especially true for logitech which has been relying on the same shape for about 6 years now
Corsair is just a shit brand that happens to make a lot of other shit so the ultranormies will just pick their mice on brand recognition alone (if they haven't picked logitech or razer yet)

Chinese knockoffs only now. They use better switches and encoders the larger brands skimp on. And for half price all you risk are minor milling defects from chinesium factories.

All the large brand use shit switches/encoders, and either the clicks or scroll wheel are guaranteed to fail. Might as well buy a clone at half price that will end up with the same problem and save money for the inevitable replacement.
