You didn't beat the game.
>>724640731I did beat the game though.
>>724641115Doesnt count if you did the robotics cope
bots are not very useful outside of remote building and quality set ups

>>724641764they’re balanced by being slow
>>724641764I think Im too dumb to set up a system where robots move items to machinesI just had drones for building and one isolated network for feeding the reactor
>>724641764Wtf is their problem? OP is in the right there.
>>724641946Bots scale infinitely with bot speed research albeit.>>724642079OP is a tranny who doesn't know shit about videogames. OP is steakmund mcmillen who nerfs everything because he hates fun.>>724641960https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2smJOtPXhIURecommended to watch DoshDoshington videos until you unlock a higher level of understanding and engineering.
>>724642194>AckshuallyYes, theoretically they doYou will never hit a point in a normal game where using robots is better for crafting most shitBelts > Robots Especially now after they added belt stackingRobots are for general utility, bringing shit to (You) and fixing/expanding the base
>>724642441>in a normal gameThe game ballooned to like 50+ hours with space age. That is enough time to accrue plenty of infinite research.
>>724641764There was no need for the staff member to be rude here.
>>724642538>Plenty ofYou dont seem to understand how much research you actually need to do to beat even basic Express belts
>>724642194>infinitelythe speed scales arithmetically but the research cost scaled geometrically
>>724641162but he literally has the achivement though
>>724640731you didn't beat the game if you think that robots finish the game for you
>>724641764Rseething is wrong though. The problem with bots is they don't really interact meaningfully with any thing else, not even in the sense of needing space on the ground. There's a reason people show off weird setups and belt spaghetti all the time and never bot swarms, they're just not interesting.
>>724643803you can make the same argument against circuits
>>724643803>interact meaningfully with any thing elseThat's not true, my bots ate all my power when I tried to upgrade my research and turned my defenses off.
>>724640731>Game all about becoming more and more efficient Bet you think modules are cheating too.
>>724643803only time you complain about robots being cheat is if you're a memeing brownoid or another retard brownoid who never scaled his factory past absolute minimum to launch a rocket after 1 monh of playtimegood luck making 16x reactor setup without robots. If we talk about robots usage we talk aboutk 1k minimum of them flying around so you cna paste entire blocks of factory to scale production
>>724642746that wasnt even rude it was just a blunt reply
As long as you don't use logistic chests for input and outputs I think it's fine If you do then yeah you played on easy modo
>>724643803>interact meaningfullythis is onions tranny commie reddit speak which is the reason why the 100% white development team rejects it
After a few hundred hours you realize there is no puzzle to belt routing or inserters. Its all input -> output and the only thing matters is if the inserter is capable of supplying the machine 100% of the time or notRobots are good but not efficient in anything but keeping your factories compactHowever with the DLC buildings & quality your base already shrinks considerably compared to vanilla ones so you dont really care (if you even did before DLC)
>>724644197>good luck making 16x reactor setup without robots. You can make 2xinfinite reactors without bots.
>>724645703I think anon is saying that laying out reactors withour having bots to build them fucking sucks
>>7246457032x reactors are not as efficient as 4x ones thoughFurthermore, belts are insane overkill for reactors
>>724640731The only "you didn't beat the game" for Factorio is if you used blueprints you got off the internet instead of designing everything yourself.
>>724647419I didnt beat the game because i used The Belt Balancer book™
>>724647419W-We make an exception for balancers... right?
>>724647708No.
>>724644767>As long as you don't use logistic chests for input and outputsI used bots heavily on Fulgora and Aquilo given the limited space though.
>>724647419>yeah bro just reinvent the wheelI think I'll just not waste my time.
>>724647691>>724647708Balancing belts is a meme anyway. There's no real reason to bother with it, all you need is a full flow from parallel belts to outputs.
>>724643015>newfag can't triforce
>>724647996>play puzzle game>look up solutions because you don't want to "waste your time" "reinventing the wheel"
>>724647691>>724647708>>724648110I beat fulgora using only belt balancers and a main bus
>>724640731I know.Factorio made me realize I might not have assburgers after all.I just can't in2 trains, so I let drones sort everything out, built that fucking rocket and stopped playing.
>>724648221>start a new game>import blueprint book>copy the only item in the blueprint book into the clipboard>paste>spend entire playthrough filling in the ghost of someone elses factoryI beat the game fair and square
>>724646835>2x reactors are not as efficient as 4x ones thoughBy the time you're moving up from 2x2, the benefit from keeping it square is pretty marginal. 2x8 and 4x4 are nearly the same amount of power.
>>724648536i'll kill you
>>724648591Would you downgrade the murder to a beating if i said it was my previously made factory instead?
>>724648528What do you find hard about trains? They aren't really necessary anyway unless you change the worldgen to facilitate them.
This was painful to do in a single save, so much so that I have been leaving a network of bots behind on every planet after I "complete" it (land with nothing and launch a rocket back to my platform) and I feel fucking great about it.
>>724641960Shift+right click a machine, shift+click a blue chest. Magic.
>>724648352No.>Proceeds to make something even worse
>>724649108That's illegal, delet
>>724648654I have a self-made blueprint of my early smelting, a gear array, green circuit array, mall, and red+green science. I love it because I worked hard on it, but it does mean my earlygame is a chore. I may just think early stage factorio is a chore no matter what though.>>724649108It infuriates me that the combinator is sticking out on a 4th line instead of being behind the splitter.
>>724649108If you used combinators or ANY logic in your factory,You didnt beat the game.
>>724640731Pre 1.0 i actually launched a rocket in a run without bots, solar power, or lasersI dont think Steam cheevos were active at the time though so i cant muster proof even if there are ingame ones
>>724649108So the combinator works in timed phases? That means if your belts input is varied, it will not split them correctly!Belt balancers > combinator balancers
>>724640731>>724641434
>>724648528I'm still too traumatized over trains in TTD to even touch them in Factorio.
Every time I start a new playthrough of factorio I manage to scale just a bit bigger but my refusal to plan ahead results in issues
>>724649816If you're planning to go much bigger than this, just disable bitersNot because of any challenge posed by them, but because they make your game run slower
>>724650026Poorfag AND a cheater? Many such cases.
>>724648664It's hard to find a reason to justify huge train networks if you either get high mining productivity research or have space age installed (ie, have a lower demand for raw ores on Nauvis). Most I've used trains for outside of carting in ores is moving sulfer/plastic and coal/iron between my oil outposts.
>>724649762Chain signals in rail signals outIts really that simple
Is this how it should look like?
>>724653856CloseBut you've got signals letting people onto the junction not knowing if the whole path is clear.Just think about chain signals looking through a whole junction making sure the whole way is clear and the rail signal on the exit telling them that the path is clear for them to get off the junction.
