I used to be Team Red but there is no coping anymore, this is the biggest anti-consumer maneuver ever

My 6750xt is still in warranty and yet it is not supported anymore holy fucking shit, THE NVIDIA GPU I UPGRADED FROM IS STILL SUPPORTED

Please accept my apologies nvidiabros

>njudea still releasing drivers for cards with three-digit numbers
>AMD dropping support for cards made this very decade
Did some intern completely fuck up? How "in-character" is it for AMD to even do something like this?
>>
>>724642765
>Update - 11:45 am ET, October 31: In a statement of clarification to Tom's Hardware, AMD says that "New features, bug fixes and game optimizations will continue to be delivered as required by market needs in the maintenance mode branch" to its RDNA 1 and 2-based GPUs, following community pushback and some confusion regarding its recent decision to put the cards in 'maintenance mode'. AMD had previously stated cards would "continue to receive driver updates for critical security and bug fixes."
>>
I've supported AMD like a religious extremist for one decade and this single maneuver made me immediately pray they go bankrupt. My next GPU will be Nvidia, fuck this shitty company.
>>

>How "in-character" is it for AMD to even do something like this?
their gpu division has always been pretty fucking stupid
>>
>>724642978
Vague promise, in the end the cards are still legacy.
>>
I'd tell you'll retards without tech literacy to STFU and just go play some vidya
but (You) don't do that, either
>>
>>724642765
Funnily enough this doesn't really affect linux users
>>
This is probably why Nvidia basically gets to operate unopposed
>>
>>724643601
True. Their users are fucking retarded and believe obvious bullshit.
>>
>>724643651
You really can't talk hot shit when GPUs released 2 years ago are being treated like garbage by AMD
>>
>>724643418
Who are the people using AMD GPUs on Linxu anyway?

If AMD is already 2% of the market (if Steam statistics are to be believed) and Linux are 1% of the market, these people are what, 0.02%?
>>
>>724643856
And that makes obvious lies not obvious lies how?
>>
>>724643991
Amd is preferred on linux due to it having much better driver support, so a lot more than 2% of linux users probably.
>>
>>724643991
Almost everyone who chooses to use linux would pick an AMD card since nvidia's linux support is famously shitty
It's like the inverse of how it was on windows
>>
>>724643991
Also amd is 17% of the market according to steam, and linux is 2%
>>
>>724644273
not for long, I won't use AMD after this so make it 16%
>>
>>724642765
>AMD

The future of Linux gaming will depend on whether valve continues with steam deck 2.0, despite autistic passion from open source enthusiasts for decades, it took a corporation like valve to properly develop a translation later like proton

If valve continues to support the steam deck, then AMD Linux gaming can truly flourish

>my drivers are not from amd, their is also from neets
>my ryzen penis enlargement app does not work on linux but its a small price to pay
>my mouth dont work, but after a couple restarts i can finally start to clicking
>im having set up raid 1 to all my python script's in case neet kernel don't turning on one day
>>
>>724645740
amd writes the amdgpu (kernel driver) code themselves, valve employees/contractors and some other graphics engineers contribute to radv, the incredibly fast vulkan implementation and some other amd employees/others contribute to radeonsi, yuzu devs said that was a gold standard opengl implementation.

>Did some intern completely fuck up? How "in-character" is it for AMD to even do something like this?
completely in character.
AMD is marketing and zero drivers.
so you will have pajeets shilling for them on youtube and screaming why nobody uses AMD even though they are so good.
Then ignores the issues with drivers and that the only places where AMD drivers are even any good is linux because the users are making the drivers and not AMD.
>>
>waaah why won't they support 7 year old gpus forever
>>
>>724648361
that ancient racing image is STILL accurate? what the fuck has AMD been doing?
>>
>>724642765
OP is a lying faggot. Nvidia stopped making game optimizations for anything older than a 1660.
>>
>>724648640
pumping money into marketing so youtubeshills can make another video crying about how the card is 10dollars cheaper and 5% better performance in some AMD favored game, then ignore any driver issues and so on.
I've bough multiple cards through out my life. Both AMD and Nvidia.
My nvidia cards all survived.
My one AMD card survived, the other burned down, the last one just blackscreened like a bitch until it became terminal.
I've never, NEVER had issues like this with nvidia. Are they overpriced? Absolutely, they are greedy kikes who barely give a shit about gamers.
Yet they still deliver a more stable and better product than AMD.

That's actually fucking depressing, I just want to break the shackles of my green masters
>>
>>724648952
Both of my AMD GPUs have been absolute units. YMMV.
>>
>>724642920
It's nothing new, they're always pretty quick to legacy their older cards (just never quite THIS quick). I dunno what their major malfunction is, maybe the driver team is undersized/overworked and this is how they cope, or they're fucking around with constant architectural changes that they can't keep up with driver-wise.

My next card will have to be Nvidia, I suppose. Don't really like the idea, but I'm tired of this shit.

t. Radeon 390 -> Vega 54 -> 6800 XT -> RTX 6090 probs
