What went so right?
Nintendo was highly restrictive on their 3rd party games, Sega was busy fucking themselves over with the 32X/Saturn, and the CDs that Playstation printed on were much cheaper than the competition. Sega also pissed off GameStop (and many others) with the NA Saturn launch, and Sony ended up undercharging for the Playstation 1 causing a lot of stores to push it heavily since they were getting so much profit off each one.
Sony embraced new technology (which was not hard given that they manufacture them).

>>724649674Right? I had every Sony console since the first gray playstation and I think Sony completely lost the plot. They did partially recover at the end of PS3's life cycle but PS4 was utter disappointment. It was so bad I looked into PC, bought the parts, built my gaming PC, and never looked back. When Sony announced PS5 I felt nothing, and didn't even buy one, which would be the first time I skipped a major Sony console launch. I don't think I will ever go back.
