It seems like the era of gamer marketing is over. What killed it?
>>
>>724688421
This guy looks like a Wendel alright
How does that even happen?
Do you think names effect how people learn and grow?
It'd make sense if the noise made at you for your whole life could have some kind of long term effect but it's so consistent that people have a lame name and end up just looking and acting like a loser that it's common for people to be suprised if someone with a name like kyle isn't a dipshit who spends all their time drunk or high.

I can see cashews of chaos but what does the rest say....nuts molester? seeds factory?
>>
Because gamers lost their identity as a result of gamergate
>>
>>724688421
Tney made the games gay and lame, and by extension identifying as a "gamer".
>>
Nobody ever knew who he was.
>>
Streamers market games all the time. See Battlefield 6.

Anyone remember the first gamer thing? It was that blue soda with guarana or something, complete with rumors of someone who drank 5 and got a heart attack?
>>

I remember those overpriced motherboards branded with this faggot's name. or am I imagining things?
>>
They sell preworkout for gayming now
>>
>What killed it?

Gaming exploded in popularity in the 2000's and 10's and everyone wanted in on the "next big thing". Now popularity has peaked and its clear that there's a limit to how much money there is to make, so interest dries up rapidly. Its insane how much funding is just fueled by pure hope and speculation

Ah yes bawls, still going as kinda a cult classic energy drink with a few whales buying pallets of the stuff, its goddamn 52 bucks for 24

Shitty overpriced products.

But gamer marketing is still alive with gamer chairs and tables.
>>

I remember I first heard of bawls in EGM. God, EGM was 1995-2005 heaven. Possibly the greatest thing of that entire period.

THE ICE AGE!
>>
>>724693356
It's pretty tasty and distinct. Red Bull and later energy drinks ate its lunch in terms of caffeine content, though.
>>
No, you're just used to it and probably not seeing it because of adblock. I still see corny gamer ads for Displate all the time
>>
>>724688421
The "gamer" fantasy changed, so the marketing changed. Being a "gamer" stopped being an enthusiast culture and became a generic young male pastime. Then it was the "pro gamer" and "esports" marketing until people wised up and realized nobody wants to live the life of a professional gamer. Now it's all about being a streamer eceleb and making a career being terminally online in mom's basement.
>>
>>724688421
No? It's all esports and streamer culture shit now.

Half this. People who actually like games don't wanna be associated with the current shitfest that is today's industry. The other half is that the normalfag grifters spent over a decade hating gamers to death, so posers don't wanna be associated with those gamergate weirdos.
The third half is people with a brain never cared about gaming culture in the first place. Everyone trying to replace the empty void in their personality by filling it up with media are pathetic. G4 was gay, gam3r fuel was gay, you are gay.
>>
>>724688421
Gamers don't have to be your audience. Gamers are dead.

Hey man, I was gonna do that anyway so getting paid for it would be pretty nice.
>>
It's mostly because gamer product are overpriced and garbage. I feel like companies market them this way to prove to their own customers that they are fucking retards and that they'll buy anything as long as it says gamer on it. I know I'm basically describing the entire earth population, but I've never seen or heard of gamer anything that isn't irredeemable trash, hardware and peripheries included.

>>
>>724699989
yeah idk, literally every streamer is sponsored by one of the many powdered energy 'supplements' marketed at gamers like gamersupps, sneak etc
it's just that instead of marketing towards the dudebro gamer they're all covered in half-naked F-cup anime girls
