After Prime 4 bombs Retro will go back to making a new DKC game.
The Retro games suck ass though, the movement feels really sluggish compared to the Rare trilogy which brings down the quality dramatically.

2d is just easier to make good game design in than 3d as a rule.
crash is great, i would put dkc1 and 2 above every crash title though.

if you want a very good crash-like that surpasses the crash franchise you can play psilosybil. i think psilosybil sits at the table with dkc1 and 2 personally.

That's kind of my point. DKC is like a corpse still being paraded around on strings by a puppeteer. It's been dead for decades. Many franchises are like this now not just DKC.

Psilosybil is legit, one of the only modern 3D platformers that actually understands the appeal of the old stuff. Super tight movement, creative level design, and just weird enough to feel like some lost Dreamcast gem. I'd still rank DKC2 above it mostly on polish and atmosphere, but I get where you're coming from. Crash wishes it had that kind of soul.
