'member when every big movie release had it's own video game? What happened?Pic related also had a 2d gameboy advance version btw.
Movies died too. No one cares about them anymore.I feel like Avengers Endgame was the last one people hyped and talked about
that game is spookier than resident evil
>>724715185I still love movies though
because people weren't buying licensed shovelware anymore and it's cheaper to make phone game instead
>>724715073>middle school friend comes over and stays the night>brings this game and I watch him beat it on my computer in one sitting>left some small pencilboxes with trading cards and other stuff that I told him about but he never came to get or asked to bring him so shrugMy mom thought it was weird his parents let him stay overnight the first time he came over. That was the only time.
It's much cheaper to do just do tie in crossovers with other live service games.
>>724715185Big budget garbage will die out somewhere in our lifetime. I think people will also be disgusted by Gen Z and Gen A actors because the old vanguard can only go on for so long. So maybe soon, most movies will become a thing of the past.
It takes longer to make games today so it's harder to lineup the game with the movie release. Even back then these games were already rushed.
Has anyone played that Gollum game? To this day I wonder what kind of German boomer greenlit this shit, thinking "Here iz a lot of money for ze license and if we pull it off, it will be ze new Goldeneye or Spiderman 2. Then we finally play wiz ze big boys"
>>724715073The GBA games are expected. The real rarity is the GBC version which is a final fantasy clone along with the second movie receiving a GBC exclusive follow-up. They're actually pretty fuckin sweet
>>724715073nowadays they just get a tie-in on some gacha slop mobile game with autobattler combat
>>724715185>Movies died too. No one cares about them anymore.is that why they rake in hundreds of millions in profit? because nobody cares?
>>724715926Do you mean the new gollum game? Why would it be compared to Spiderman 2 though? Spiderman 2 was like 15 years before the gollum game(Here's another pic of the GBC Harry Potter)
I havent played them all, but the chamber of secrets one for me is a pure childhood nostalgia game. I remember playing that shit in stores as a kid, and replayed it on dolphin years later. Idk if any other hp game holds up but that one is actually decent.
>>724716045most major films have a budget of at least 100 mil
>>724715073Games were cheaper to produce I'm guessing? Some of the tie in games were surprisingly good but later they felt they were copying the movies too much and gradually people stopped caring
>>724716087Chamber on GameCube? I'm down, I've been wanting to pick one of them to play. The 4th game on console has a co-op aspect to it and it's kinda similar to the LotR games but I want the whimsical nature of the earlier books. Anyone play the console third movie game? I wonder how the 5th/6th movie games are. Did they even make a half blood prince game? That book has the most potential for a game imo, it has tons of action and cool new spells like the one that makes you shoot blood out till you die that Snape invented
>>724716076>>724715993Absolutely loved this game as a kid. It’s similar to fellowship of the ring on ps2 in the sense that it took more from the book than the movie (I.e. peeves being present, probably some other stuff, Harry not looking like Daniel Radcliffe). I never played the sequel on the gbc when it came outAlso great ng+ where you can use the Harry Potter card to restore your stats so you’re basically mega OP
>>724716076because licensed games have been massive flops for a while now, that decision could have only been made by a boomer who thinks we still live in the 90s/00s
>>724716213The problem was that games in physical format were quite costly, so they weren't allowed to make it sloop, because once the game got some critical ET error they will be done for, nowadays they release a 100gb patch on release day and cost them nothing.
>>724716345It looks like a great game to play on phone today. I wanna try it
>>724715993Came here to post this. CoS was my least favorite book but on Gameboy it really struck a pleasant tone. Fond memories in a neatly tucked away now-forgotten little world.
