There was also an immigrant quest were you smuggle illegals who murdered someone and the game congratulates you for doing the right thing. These were the first two side quests I encountered. Also the main story and setting ripped Greedfall(a much more fun game) completely. It's the exact same story and setting(meh Fern Gulley, avatar story and dances with wolves story)

But also has a summon that can one shot everything including penance, if you have enough money on you. Fallout New Vegas, considered one of the best RPGs of all time, not even remotely difficult. Disco Elysium, another all time great, not difficult at all game. VtM:Bloodlines, the only hard fight is fucking ming xiao. For every great RPG that is difficult, there's an example of one that isn't. And for lots of the "difficult" ones, It's not even that the game is difficult, it's just fucking knowledge checks and learning curve on how to play the game. Fallout 1 is a great game, Is it difficult? Arguably the most difficultt hing is running into enemies that are too hard, too early. Does that make it a difficult game? Or is that just something you have to learn? And the older you go in CRPG (and JRPG) the more difficulty just comes from dumb obscure, barely explained bullshit, counter and un-intuitive UIs, and systems. Who the fuck thought it was a good idea to level your HP by having your characters take hits, when the logical thought in combat is to try and avoid taking hits?? Fucking hell.

Because most modern RPGs are written one dimensionally, so if you don't align with the views of the creator the game will constantly clash with your own belief system. It makes the game feel less like you're roleplaying a character and more like you're following the creators self insert story. Instead of trying to make RPGs they should rather make action games with established characters. I have more respect for a shit game like forspoken than avowed.
