Why don't we have video games with accurate depictions of dinosaurs?
>>
"accurate depiction" of a creature that died out millions of years before humans existed is a tall ask
>>
The retards whining about this shit are as retarded as the retards asking for "biblically accurate angels".

I wish we had a video game or movie about a biblically accurate apocalypse. The closest we got was Darksiders, unfortunately.

Enoch is not a canonical book. So the “biblically accurate angels” retardation is so obviously just fedora tipping redditors attacking christian strawmen again. They just never got over mommy and daddy forcing them to go to church (or in some cases they never got over chad christians bullying homosexual white buddhist boys at school by wishing them a Merry Christmas)

nah shitty art made by shitty people looks shitty
there's depictions of feathered dinosaurs that look good, same thing with meatier T. Rex

that latter is just plain weird that people are upset about it, T. Rex was an 8 ton apex predator with a ludicrous biteforce, it hunted and killed Triceratops
It shouldn't be lanky for god forbid look like it's anorexic, it should be muscled, especially around the neck because that's where all the muscles that operated it's jaws would have gone

People aren't upset about bears being ""fat"" either, it's not like they're not ridiculously strong, and almost suprisingly fast
>>
>>724763140
>it hunted and killed Triceratops
We don't know that. It might have eaten dead triceratops but that's not evidence of hunting and killing it. I ate a steak last night but I sure as shit didn't hunt and kill the cow. I found it on the road already dead.

T. Rex skeletons were found with healed Triceratops inflicted wounds on it
Triceratops skeletons were found with healed T. rex inflicted wounds on them

So no it wasn't a scavenger, it was well suited for hunting Triceratops specifically, the one thing that likely is something people don't expect is that it's looking more and more like T. Rex was, despite it's size, built for stealth attacks

great eyesight, great sense of smell both to detect prey at massive distances
high intelligence to pick out a good approach
and general built designed for getting as close as possible undetected and then a burst of speed and a single immensely powerful traumatic bite to incapacitate it's prey

And if that sounds farfetched to you, remember this is pretty much exactly how great whites hunt

Neither of these are definitely true. It's speculation.
>it was well suited for hunting Triceratops specifically
No evidence for that.
>T. Rex was, despite it's size, built for stealth attacks
Now you are just being silly.
>great eyesight
No evidence for this. Once again, it's speculation based on very, very scant evidence and a lot of big assumptions.
>great sense of smell both to detect prey at massive distances
Same with this.

Fact is we don't know much at all. We don't even really know what they looked like.

>remember this is pretty much exactly how great whites hunt
So what? They're different animals. This is probably the biggest problem with all these conclusions. They just look at modern animals but they're very selective about how they do that. And they say things like "We know the t rex has great sense of smell because we think it had a large olfactory bulb. We don't know it did. We just think it did. Also, a large olfactory bulb doesn't necessary mean a great sense of smell but we're just going to assume it does here." It's not real science. It's a load of bullshit.

there's no evidence of it having bad eyesight, there is evidence of it having great eyesight
eye size is one of the best correlations to visual acuity among chordates
size of nasal cavity is again a great correlation to sense of smell, outside of circumstances where a large nasal cavity is used to preheat air which we can easily rule out for T. Rex

the skeletons with healed wounds on it are good enough evidence that they did fight

seriously by your logic since everything is speculative that means we can't rule out T. Rex was in fact a herbivore

It was always stupid to think otherwise as literally all predators work this way.
>big cats

If you stop and think about it, all predation is based, at least partially, on stealth.
>>
>>724761315
Because basedence just recently decided that dinos look stupid like that. By the time media starts depicting them like that, basedentists will have changed their minds yet again.
>>
>>724766492
>there's no evidence of it having bad eyesight, there is evidence of it having great eyesight
There's actually not a lot of evidence either way.
>eye size is one of the best correlations to visual acuity among chordates
No, not that simple. There is some indication that eye size relative to body size has a correlation to eye sight but not just objective eye size. Birds, for example, have far, far better eyesight than a human and yet their eyes are significantly smaller than a human's eye. Relatively speaking, the t rex had small eyes.
>seriously by your logic since everything is speculative that means we can't rule out T. Rex was in fact a herbivore
No. Because teeth is very good evidence of whether something is a herbivore or carnivore. All that other stuff you're going on about though? That's hard to get from fucking fossilized bone.
>>
>>724766714
Yeah, why do they have to keep changing shit? Why can't paleontology be monolithic and dogmatic?
>>
>>724766681
The stealth is relative. Most predators just rely on their prey being too blind, deaf, stupid, etc. to realize they're being prey upon. If it isn't then it's harder for the predator to catch it and so they don't tend to bother trying. When it comes to stealth as we think of the term very few of the animal kingdom actually employs that. You only have to watch a few nature documentaries before you realize almost all animals will walk right into obvious danger because they're just too crap an animal to realize that's what they are doing.

The bible has been edited to fuck and back to the point that the bible isn't biblically accurate at all.
What's your point retard?
>>
>>724767468
>humans have among the best vision among mammals though, and it's better than most birds
Kind of proving my point because there's a lot of animals that have bigger eyes than humans.
>the only birds that have better vision than us are eagles and guess what, their eyes are similar in size to human eyes
There's more birds that have better eyesight than humans than just eagles. And yes, it's similar is size and yet far superior to a humans. What it also is is larger relative to it's body than a human's is.

You're basically proving my point for me.

>You only have to watch a few nature documentaries before you realize almost all animals will walk right into obvious danger because they're just too crap an animal to realize that's what they are doing.
That just means the stealth was successful, most predators work with stealth; colors that are harder for the prey to see, fast ambushes to be quicker than the prey's reflexes, slow and silent movement to not be heard by prey, etc...Because evolution is a biological armsrace between prey being able to escape predators more efficiently and predators being able to catch prey more efficiently, stealth skills facilitates the latter, so it becomes an extremely common part of a predators arsenal.

Most predators are stealth killers, the few exceptions (which still use partial stealth) are stuff like social animals like wolves, ants, hyenas, orcas and people, which make use of numbers and sometimes positioning to hunt during a chase, but agin, its the exception, think of most predators and you will see most of them do a variation of.

>come as close to the prey that you can without being spotted
>quick ambush to 1hko prey
Chases are the exception, not the rule.
>>
>>724766925
You only think that because you're autistic.

>>come as close to the prey that you can without being spotted
>>quick ambush to 1hko prey
No. Most predators do not 1hko prey. Most of the ones that tend to be able to do that are ones with venom. Most predators either overwhelm their prey by just being much stronger or have more stamina. Even those with venom still tend to be stronger than their prey. Also, most commonly predators wait for the prey to come to them.

this is not true. there are direct latin/greek translations of the hebrew text that was done very close to its inception so the context and meaning of words was not lost, along with english translations based off them soon after like the douay–rheims bible. the amount of study and care done by christian theologians for thousands of years shouldn't be handwaved away because you want an excuse to dismiss christianity

My favorite is the retards who say "erm actually, you know Satan/the Devil/Lucifer is actually never in the Bible right?? They made him up later!" Forgetting that he 100% fucking is an explicit character described in detail and they're confusing "not in the Bible" with "not in the Old Testament". >eyes are the size of grape fruits and are among the largest of any land animal EVER

In Judaism/the Old Testament in a vacuum, the serpent is actually never explained at all. It shows up, does its thing, and is never mentioned again. Pretty strange for the source of all that's fucking wrong with the world. But Christianity essentially retcons the serpent as a fallen angel named Satan so it actually makes some narrative sense. And in Gnosticism, the serpent was straight up an angel sent by the real god to sabotage the Demiurge

Gnosticism is really dumb because of how redundant it is. The idea is "the physical world is ruled by the evil god, so we must ascend to the spiritual world ruled by the good god". But that's literally already the premise of Christianity. Satan has ruled the sinful material earth since the fall, so we must strive for a purer world in heaven

>we actually a whole lot about them outside of their exact outer appearance
We don't know much at all. The fact that you think taking a guess at what sort of brain they had based on the cavity in their skull leads you to be able to drawn conclusions like "They had extremely good eyesight and sense of smell." just demonstrates you're an idiot. None of this stuff is compelling evidence for their claims. It's very weak evidence to support their claims. The actual brain would be good but the hole where the brain goes doesn't mean much.

>eyes are the size of grape fruits and are among the largest of any land animal EVER
This doesn't mean as much as you think it does. Dragonflies, for example, have very small eyes and yet their eyesight is extremely good. They can see a mosquito from 50 feet away. We can't and our eyes are much larger than a dragonfly's.

Biology is not as simple as you, or your dumbass paleontologists, think it is.

The simple fact is with just a skeleton we have no idea what they looked like. Sure their skeletons are bird-like, so they probably did share some features and we know smaller ones did have proto-feather spines (and that Trex didn't) and flight feathers on the upper arms for unknown evolutionary reasons (Probably sexual display or balance as they ran or both), but other than that your guess is as good as mine as to what they looked like.

Surprised this pic wasn't posted before.
Mammals look this way because we can move our lips and eyelids etc to communicate with each other. There are points on the skull that indicate muscle attachments that are preserved in the fossil record, so far dino skulld has been more like reptiles and birds, no wide-ranging muscular tissue to suggest as such.
So the middle picture is what a hippo WOULD look like if it were a reptile/dino/bird (minus the feathers).

Scalefags are literal closet trannies with a disgusting kink. They are unwilling to look at the wealth of scientific evidence before us that supports the broad display of feathers across dinosaurdom, because they were indoctrinated in their childhood with outdated pictures depicting an unqualified artist's idea of these hulking feathered beasts. They consequently developed sort of Oedipus complex with those drawings which I call scalefaggot syndrome. Scalies are undiagnosed autists but not the smart kind.

also general retardation and bad faith. Obviously a t-rex wasn't a giant fucking ball of feathers that was like a chicken. Doesn't mean they also weren't real animals with fascinating shit about them undiscovered and to discover. I know what you’re trying to say anon but that’s retarded because they absolutely did develop feathers from nowhere at one point of evolution
>>
>>724780290
Both mammals and birds seem to get less hair/feathers the larger they get, mostly because the larger the body gets, the more redundant their need for insulation gets (their own bodies can maintain their own heat if they're bigger)

Most paleontologists agree the Trex would have been far too big to need feathers. MAYBE the chicks had fluff, but as adults anything growing on them would just be for display or evolutionary leftovers.

Don't be dumb anon you're smarter than that. there's always new fossils to find, new information that gives different context to old pieces of information. The earth is vast and bigger than what human minds can reasonably wrap their heads around, numbers don't do it justice. We're completely blind about most of the life that was on earth yes, and not many things got to fossilize. We've done a great job at finding most of the big ones, but humans hundreds of years from now will be finding weird ass bones in weird ass places we've never even thought to look.
>>
>>724780368
Evolution is a half-answer. It's provides a plausible explanation for some things like "How did humans get an opposable thumb?" but when you get into the real complex stuff, like "How did warm blooded animals come to exist?", evolution falls completely flat on its ass and scientist have to get into the realm of absurd speculation to maintain evolution as the answer. And that's not even that hard a question, relatively speaking. It's called irreducible complexity. Scientists hate it can all "Christian propaganda" but it is actually genuinely a big problem for evolution.

The idea that you can just copy and paste DNA to fill in the gaps and get something that is even viable as a result, much less something bearing close resemblance to the animal you are trying to clone, is a complete and utter load of nonsense. Jurassic Park, including its portrayal of dinosaurs, was mostly fantasy and not really based on science at all.

Fun fact: The claim that predators can't see things that don't move was considered so utterly retarded a thing to have and Crichton got so much shit for it that he actually retconned it in the second book and ridiculed the character Grant for believing something so insanely stupid.

I'm pretty sure a form of feathers are reconstructible to the earliest dinosaurs. That it's ancestral to the whole family.

People don't realize how weird or horrific birds can sound.

Some snake species still have vestigial legs.
>>
>>724785764
I actually appreciate this one for not having garish colors on the statue and instead having it look properly painted

some of those "statue restorations" are absolutely abhorrent
>>
>>724786719
The problem is most of those birds are just cute
The cassowary is not
>>
>>724780193
>It's not like they got something else in return to compensate them
Their giant head, immensely strong jaws and neck muscles.
>>
>>724786802
they're not vestigial in those species though, they're used for mating

they didn't fade or shade the colors, using the remnant pigments and covering them flat, the ancient statues would have looked more like the contemporary colored religious statues
>>
>>724786996
You thought that was a clever gotcha but none of the things you mentioned are vestigial in humans.

Science is an ongoing process that gets more correct with time. For evolution, there's always an explanation even if it's not obvious at first.

There's no scientific basis for this assertion.

They’re retarded. Amerimutts are still chopping off their foreskins despite “being made in gods image,” which implies God has a foreskin. Millions of years of evolution and selective advantage led to humans having a foreskin but they go mutilate themselves because of some middle eastern cult like cucks.

>Vestigial
>Adjective
>a structure, organ, behavior, or other attribute that has lost its original function during evolution, though it may have had a vital purpose in an ancestor.
Fits the definition of vestigial. They're no longer used for walking but rather mating.

It doesn't matter how big the bear skull was. If people found a giant bear skull, they would assume it's a giant fucking bear. You'd either need to find a giant lizard skull, or an alligator skull (an animal that hasn't been native to Europe for millions of years) to confuse it for a dragon's skull.
