Even if you support the NCR, you should probably just side with House or Yes-Man. The NCR desperately needs a bloodied nose to get their heads out of their asses. Siding with the NCR just encourages more of the same rot that is slowly destroying them, and I think it's honestly worse than siding with the Legion in the long-term.
The legion is cartoonishly evil and has absolutely no redeeming qualities in NV, why do people pretend anyone unironically sides with them? Is it just to have an easy strawman to argue against?

>>724787010It's fine to like the NCR but my main problem with these redditors is that they don't seem to be able to abstract their minds to the fallout setting. NCR is comfortable to them because in their sheltered urbanite lives they're already used to government overreach, massive taxes, corruption, incompetence, and decadence, but in the fallout world a force like the legion makes a lot of sense. I still mostly blame the devs for not humanizing the legion enough though. The NCR is humanized too much while the legion is only shown as cartoonishly evil and robotic with the exception of a few Caesar dialogues. Was the overly robotic generic legion lines necessary? or the unmarked quest of tormeting a little girl slave by taking his teddy bear and mocking her about it? There's nothing redeemable about the way the legion is portrayed, it relies entirely on Caesar himself and the idea of what it's supposed to be out east and what it's supposed to become post game.
